Our room with its ensuite bathroom and terrace was spacious, clean and comfortable; the swimming pools were super enjoyable and the view over the Tanote Bay and its surroundings was absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming; most come from Myanmar in search for a more hopeful future. A very BIG THANK YOU to all of them for making out stay so special; three brilliant days; what a treat! A side note on the food served at the resort which has been criticized in some reviews. As far as we are concerned, we found breakfast and the food served in the evening excellent. Overall, this is a stay we will remember. We will be back!

A very large turtle swam out of the rocks while I was snorkeling. It’s was AMAZING! The PERFECT Sunset view just a walk to villa 1 and it is stunning! Boasting a terrace, restaurant and views of sea, Aow Leuk Grand Hill is situated in Koh Tao, a few steps from Aow Leuk Beach. 2.1 km from Sai Daeng Beach and 2.2 km from Shark Bay Beach, the resort features a private beach area. Rooms have a balcony with mountain views and free WiFi. This is a special place. This hotel is on the best snorkeling beach in Thailand in my opinion. The cove where the hotel is located is the place where all the dive and snorkeling boats go, but if you stay at the Aow Leuk Grand Hill Hotel, you are right there, no boat necessary. Just walk into the water and you're surrounded by big colorful fish. Swim a few feet to your left and you're in a world of beautiful coral. The food at the hotel is excellent and reasonably priced (but be aware that the restaurant closes at 5PM; if you want to eat later you can order take-out to your room). The pancakes were great for breakfast. The units are basic, but the view of the bay as absolutely fantastic, and you can look at the view from your hammock. The water for the shower is hot. There's no A/C but the room cools off at night, and if you want it a bit cooler, you can open the sliding door. I had no problem with insects, but there is mosquito netting around the bed. The staff is helpful and friendly. As far as I'm concerned, if you love to snorkel, this IS the place to stay. Be aware that you will need to walk down some steep steps, so people who have difficulty climbing stairs might have a problem.
