Overlooking the River Lillån, this family-run hotel is quietly located in central Orsa. It offers a private bridge, a breakfast room with river views and rooms with free WiFi. The hotel is in a beautiful spot along the river and walking distance to the center. The room was nice size with a comfortable bed and luggage racks which was really nice. The host, Hakan, was very helpful with suggestions of sites to see in the area. Overall a great stay and highly recommended.

The B&B is in a world heritage centre! The owners were amazing so helpful and friendly it felt like staying with a friend! In any other country you would pay at least double the cost for a hotel of this quality!

Just 50 metres from the Västerdalälven River, this countryside B&B is 4 km south of Sälen. All rooms have a private bathroom, while some rooms also feature a kitchenette and river views. Very good location for main ski resorts in Sälen good amenities with kitchen in the room and parking availability. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This family-run hotel is next to the Grövlan River, 2 km from Grövelfjäll Ski Resort. It offers gourmet cuisine, free Wi-Fi and a relaxation area with sauna and outside hot tub. Good breakfast but no fish and not very much fruit or vegetables. The food standard was generally good and we like being able to make a packed lunch from the breakfast table.

Overlooking Lake Siljan, this hotel is 1 km from Rättvik Train Station and the Storgatan shopping street. WiFi and parking are free. Access to a gym, hot tub and sauna is also free. Everything and especially the kindness of the staff who helped us a lot when we had problems with our car which was stuck on the icy roads.

Housed in a 15th-century farmhouse, this Dalarna countryside hotel is 400 meters from Lake Siljan. It offers free Wi-Fi and charming rooms with luxury beds and a flat-screen TV. It’s a lovely family owned hotel with a very long history. The hotel is very cosy with lots of attention to details. We stayed in the main building and everything was easily accessible for my elderly parents. I celebrated my 60th birthday there and it was perfect with a beautiful mini suite and excellent food and wine. It’s a bit expensive but at least we felt it was worthwhile. So rare to find a good hotel that also has a good restaurant. The outdoor heated pool was a lovely place to relax.

Housed in an elegant refurbished 1930s building, this hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from Falun Central Station. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, a free evening buffet and free afternoon coffee and cookies. Staff were absolutely amazing, couldn't have done more to help us! The rooms were lovely and had everything we needed.

Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Polhem Bed & Breakfast is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Falun, 200 metres from Falun Mine. The whole setup was fantastic.
