We were not aware that Casa das Obras was a 250 year old manor house. It has been sympathetically renovated with beautiful rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. It has impressive reception areas, and multiple cosy rooms for relaxing. It was centrally heated and spotlessly clean. A magnificent buffet breakfast was included. For warmer weather it has a lovely garden with a swimming pool. The host was on site to greet us, and available throughout our stay for anything we required. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Although the room wasn’t huge the balcony was, which made storing our suitcases easy as the weather was fine. The swimming pool looked very inviting. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and for the included breakfast. There is also a comfortable guest lounge.

Featuring mountain views, Casa do Telheiro provides accommodation with patio, around 20 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela. A clean little sanctuary up in the mountains! A nice spaced room and bathroom, windows that look out onto the village and mountain and a full, big kitchen. Everything was exceptionally clean, I could stay here and recharge for weeks!

Located in Alvoco das Várzeas, Quinta das Levadas - Country House & Nature offers accommodation with seating area. The breakfast was exceptional, very traditional and with local products. The staff was lovely and provided us with a wonderful road trip to do nearby.

Charming staff willing to learn how to make desired cocktails. For our king-bed room there was a huge balcony the allowed us to dry laundry.

Elsa, the owner, was my guardian angel: She planned a wonderful day trip for me, she reserved places in good restaurants for me, she even made me a packed breakfast when I was leaving early in the morning. she is so friendly and caring. was worth to come to manteigas just for her. above that, the room was excellent: spacious with a comfortable bed and nice shower. the small town is great for exploring the Sera da Estrela. there’s a gods restaurant right next door
