Staff at the reception was extremely helpful - 5 stars for this. Great location, may be better than staying in the old city. Breakfast was not that exceptional as hotel claims, but it was good enough.

Situated in a historic sanatorium building from 1918, Villa Santa features a garden, a terrace and a bar. With free WiFi, this 4-star hotel offers room service. The property is non-smoking throughout and is set in Gauja National Park, 300 metres from river Gauja. Arriving in our room, we were stunned with the treetop view, the spaciousness, the privacy. Breakfast at the restaurant was more than adequate, with several options on the buffet. Staff were polite and accommodating. Location was convenient to the National Park. Grounds were lovely and in a very peaceful setting. Location was a short drive from the historic town center, convenient, but pleasantly remote.
