Boasting barbecue facilities, Wanhan Apteekin Majatalo is located in Kerimäki in the Eastern Finland region, 25 km from Savonlinna Train Station. Great location not far from Savonlinna and in the famous Kerimäki village. I was really impressed with both exterior and interior of the hotel. Even in-door and on-window locks look authentically. The breakfast is tasty and provides a variety of meals typical for such kind of facilities. Room was clean and well served for me at the moment of arrival. I've noticed the hotel is quite popular as there was a noticeable number of quests There is a number of POI in there, first of all, the Kerimäki kirkko. It definitely worth to visit

Salpalinjan Hovi is set in a charming, renovated school building, 10 minutes’ drive from Lappeenranta city centre. Excellent location and awesome place to stay close to Lappeenranta. The "history room" is super, it's very spacious and it's fully furnished with everything. The host is very nice and helpful in explaining what to do in the nearby area and in Rutola village. Nearby there's a GP Grilli which is excellent. I highly recommend it if you're passing by!

Just 100 metres from the bridge to Olavinlinna Castle, this small boutique hotel is next to Lake Saimaa in Savonlinna. It offers individually decorated rooms with scenic views and free wired internet.... Absolutely one of the best little places I've stayed anywhere! It's a cosy little place with only a couple of rooms which open up to a lawn with an amazing view of the castle and the lake. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed getting to chat with her after breakfast and learning more about the area. It was more akin to being a welcomed guest in someone's home rather than just a customer as a hotel. I would absolutely stay there again!

Beautiful location with great sauna at the lake and option to use the rowing boat (rowing between the water lillies). Very clean room and great food. Free parking

Situated 50 metres from Retretti Train Station and 100 metres from Lake Pihlajavesi, Harjun Portti offers cottage accommodation with a private sauna, fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. We were made very welcome and the chalet conformed to the description. No bad surprises. The chalet was spacious, heated before our arrival and the fireplace allowed us to spend good times inside even though it was -25 outside. The sauna in the chalet was a real plus too. Very close to the lake, the snowshoe or Nordic ski trails, it is a perfect location which gives the feeling of being in the heart of nature while being in the immediate vicinity of a clear traffic route, which is not negligible in extreme cold. I think we will come back if the opportunity arises.

Situated by Lake Saimaa, 15 minutes’ drive from Puumala, Sahanlahti has a private beach, marina and a lakeside smoke sauna. What can I say! This was my 4th stay at Sahanlahti and as every time, my only big mistake was to have stayed just 1 night. The location by the lake is just beautiful, the rooms are so well done and have a friendly, welcoming vibe, the staff are helpful, the breakfast on a terrace in the morning is a treat. During the day there are other people around visiting the facilities, and there is a small harbor for a few boats, but it all comes together to being one place of life and relaxed enjoyment and nature. For me, it does good to my stressed soul every time I stay there. Highly recommended.
