El Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola au Lac, de 5 estrelles, està situat a la vora del llac de Lugano i a poca distància a peu del nucli antic de la localitat de Lugano. - we loved our rooms, very spacious - we got a free room upgrade (we had 3 rooms) - super friendly staff! Very helpful. - breakfast was nice - housekeeping cleaned the rooms twice a day with turndown service which we loved!! - there was always a gift in the room, like chocolate, cake, fruits, etc.. - very thoughtful management - rooms had huge balconies in the suits. - we enjoyed the new year’s eve dinner, the kitchen was very accommodating of our needs and requests.

Fantastic little hotel - perfect for a few days using Lugano as a base to explore the area. Perfect location on a quiet street but 2 mins from the lake and swimming spots/lido and a 10/15 min walk into the centre of Lugano. There is a bus stop 2 mins from the hotel which has very frequent buses into the town centre and directly to the train station. Also the C12 bus goes directly to Menaggio making it an extremely convenient way to do a day trip to Lake Como! The staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to swim and eat and advice on transportation. Excellent breakfast! Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a balcony and very quiet.
