Facing Preguiças River in Barreirinhas, this resort features 2 pools with a bar and sunloungers, a multi-sport court and gym. It offers air-conditioned rooms and buffet breakfast at the restaurant. The staff of the resort was very kind and helpful, the room was great, with good size and excellent bathrooms. Breakfast, continental style, was nice (it's possible to order tapioca or omelet and they bring it to your table) and other meals in the restaurant were of great flavour for a fir price. The lobster moqueca is fabulous and served 2 adults and a six-year-old child for a very convenient price (R$ 170,00). Location is excellent for most tours, because it's very close to the beginning of most of them, but the resort is a little bit far from the Beira Mar Street, what can be downside for who wants to have lunch or dinner in town, since most restaurants are in the nearby of this street. Kids playing area is excellent, pretty new and well maintained. There're three pools, one of them with river water and waterfalls, which was a delight after the tours and all the heat of the day. Within the property there's a pottery, where you can buy pieces from local artisans that work there or you can make your own vase and take it with you! Our son and us enjoyed a lot the moment and the local artisan helped us to make a very beautiful piece of our own.

Hotel Luzeiros São Luis is just a short walk from Ponta do Farol Beach in São Luis. It has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in São Luís. The location: very safe to walk around, all taxi drivers knew well the address (and there is always a taxi stationed nearby, we travelled most times with Mr Auri, very attentive and careful driver), right at the seafront (but quite difficult to reach the beach), walking distance to excellent restaurants, delicatessen, pharmacy, coconut stand... The breakfast: great variaty and quality. The regional food was amazing. Just the breakfast make your stay worthy The swimming pool: we regretted not using it more. Good for chilling and for a few laps The staff: although very busy, always kind and efficient. Flávio Augusto upgraded us to a seaview room that was a really nice treat after travelling for 17h. The toiletries: lovely scents, great quality And they our suitcases when we went to Lençóis for a week

Offering a restaurant and free breakfast, Pousada Rancho das Dunas is located in Santo Amaro. The accommodation will provide guests with a TV and air conditioning. There is also a dining table. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, our room was excellent and the food was great.

Casa Frankie are 2 listed houses next to each other, located in the center of São Luís' historic district. They are both beautifully renovated to 100% original colonial style. amazing location, staff is super friendly and open minded

Calhau Praia Hotel offers a seafront location directly on Av. Litorânea Beach. The private, outdoor swimming pool offers beach views. At the rooftop Deck Bar, exotic cocktails are available. I stayed here before, and will continue to stay when I come to São Luis

Brisamar Hotel offers beach front accommodation in São Luis, Maranhão. Guests will have access to a sauna and a swimming pool. Everything is priced fairly, from drinks at the pool to food in the restaurant. There are plenty of choices for breakfast and the staff is very nice and professional. The location is also very nice as it's right by the ocean. Exceeded my expectations and would definitely come back.

With garden views, Ciamat Camp is located in Santo Amaro and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and children's playground. Great location and amazing setting. You feel like right in the nature while still having luxury and clean facilities. Right next to the river where you can easily swim or cool down.
