Our third time in Gränna and our first time to sleep at Gyllene Uttern. The location is just fantastic. Easy to reach, easy and safe to park and with a stunning view on Lake Vättern and the Island of Visingsö (which we finally -third time's a charm- enjoyed by ferry: very worthwile!). We spent 3 nights in the Andrée annex to the castle building. It is named after the Arctic Explorer, Ing. S A Andrée. We dined in the main building (castle) and enjoyed the freshly made meals with local delicacies and local produce. The breakfast is just amazing and so complete. Too much choice :-) Our room (and the entire building) seemed to have just had a major refurbishment. Everything was brand new and luxurious. The size of the room was rather large and the bathroom was very well equipped. Even though the building is rather large in size, everything has a cozy, warm and very personal feeling. A great asset of this place is the staff. They were super welcoming and friendly throughout our stay and we had the feeling not any question or request would be one too many. It shows they take pride in making their guests feel at home and enjoy their stay in every way possible. We will definitely return for a 4th time in Gränna :-)

A buffet breakfast is served every day. Regional dishes based on fresh local produce are served at the in-house restaurant Framnäs. The restaurant's glass-enclosed veranda provides a nice atmosphere for relaxation.

Easy check in, no problems whatsoever. We had everything we could ask for. It was fresh and clean with lovely just enough decorated rooms. My daughter especially liked the garden, swings and trampoline, and the pool! She even managed to lay some of the puzzles that was available in the living room. The building itself is very picturesque. Free parking. Peaceful village. The shore of the lake next to the hotel meant possibility to swim. A positive surprise was that breakfast was included, contrary to what Booking.com informed when booking. Also restaurant would have been available. Good breakfast in a cozy space. Very friendly host. Quick and friendly handover of keys, apartment tour and sharing what to do in Granna (we just did everything recommended and it was perfect). Coffee, milk, drinks, freshly baked cinnamon buns - all provided ... a lovely touch Anneka (Thanks) Ideal location for shops, local walks and great view from the apartment - bikes available free for rides. Apartment was immaculate and well catered - hot water for the shower
