We loved our stay! It is a property with a long history, carefully renovated by the owners and it retained an old world vibe.. It feels like time has stopped and you are transported to a fairly tale here! I loved the attention to detail at every corner. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal. The breakfast/dining area feels like you're in someone's home. We stayed in the main house and there were very few other guests while we were there. So we stayed a lot in the common area, on the couch with a fireplace. You can keep up the fire yourself and it keeps the room very warm. We were here in October. The weather was cold and rainy. It made our stay even more cozy. The bed was HUGE and super comfortable. We had a car. It would be difficult to stay here without one. It is a pleasant 30-40min drive to see the vineyards in Piñhao. We also liked the city centre of Vila Real, 5min driving from the property. All in all, our favourite stay in Portugal (and we stayed in 5 different hotels/AirBnBs).

Beautiful and calm atmosphere. Lovely, quiet property, yet can walk to town easily. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal. Lots of options, including a custom-made omelet and the view from the dining room of the trees was a peaceful environment. The staff in the breakfast room were also very kind and helpful. Bruno at the front desk welcomed us warmly and was a wealth of information in recommendations for dinner and hikes in the area. Bruno was always joyful and clearly loved helping guests. A great manager for the hotel.

Very friendly concierge, very helpful and accommotwd to out our hike away inside the premises. the coffee shop/restaurant next door was great and friendly as well.

Breakfast offered was both full English and continental style buffet and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good but we decided to eat at a local Portugese restaurant. The staff were hospitable and very helpful. The view over teh canyon behind the hotel was spectacular. Parking was secure.

Impeccably kept with flower gardens, vegetable garden and two pools! All surrounded by a Forrest walk. The staff were kind and helpful! Apartment was beautifully decorated and very spacious. We loved our little terrace and bbq area. The delivery of fresh bread in the mornings was a lovely touch and the honesty shop with local produce was a delight. Would thoroughly recommend coming here and staying to relax or even as a base for the Douro. We will be back!

We were really pleased to stay at your lovely home and send big recommendations to other travellers. The flat is cozy and well equipped with everything you need. Bed is ok, relaxed lighning, kitchen, bathroom with hot water and a place outside with fresh strawberries. AND the lovely delicious chocolate cake which was freshly made :) Breakfast in the fridge and fresh bread in the morning - what a service! We loved it and really appreciate Marias help and effort to keep us happy.
