Train Spot Guesthouse is located in a disused and restored 19th century train station, in the small village of Beirã, 11 km from the medieval town of Marvão.

It features various accommodations from private double rooms to family rooms and apartments, overlooking the mountain landscape and the disabled line. Rooms have individual reading lights and free Wi-Fi access.

Amazing 1926? building and stay at a now inactive building that is part of the closed Train Station next door. It looks like the Train Station but the ground floor has a large room with a fireplace that was used as a cafeteria eating area. No trains run on the railroad tracks and the location is very quiet day or night. The old kitchen where you make your own breakfast with owner-supplied bread, eggs, etc. has a fantastic original cast-iron range stove and huge marble sink. The entire ground floor is original. The second floor has upgraded bedrooms and bathrooms. Great exterior like Train Station with original Portuguese hand painted blue/white tiles. Hotel-recommended, nearby restaurants are excellent. The man and his sister who manage the hotel are friendly and very helpful. They are great hosts.

This is a lovely serene spot. Sounds of birds interrupting the peace. Great swimming pool. There are plenty of places nearby to visit for coffee and cake. We rode here on motorcycles which felt secure and out of sight. The villa itself was well equipped with good WiFi and a nice bathroom. Welcome bottle of wine and a couple of other things. Fantastic place.

Lovely restored little house in a tiny village with 13 inhabitants. Beautiful views and wonderful walking trails. Would really recommend the guided walking trail Contrabandistas and the tour of the Lagar. As the town doesn't have a shop nor coffee bar a useful basket with fresh bread, fruit, vegetables, wine, coffee, juice, milk and of course, olive oil is thoughtfully provided. Very nice place, wonderful views and relaxing sound of the river nearby.

It was all so special. The hostess/owner was really helpful and booked dinner for us. Most restaurants were closed due to it being winter. The rooms were lovely and once the mist cleared the views were amazing. The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. All the staff were kind and generous with information. We had wonderful walks around the town and in the castle grounds which are right next to the accommodation.
