the location at the side of the lake was wonderful, lovely walk to Muckross abbey and Muckross house. The hotel is amazing, open fires, great atmosphere with old style furniture, sitting areas, bar. Grounds are lovely, I saw some deer. Its worth having a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and had some other meals there as well which were also good.

Very comfortable bed, hot water and tea and coffee making. Mary and Dermot were so welcoming. We really felt at home. Not having our own car we really appreciated Dermot giving us a lift from the station. The house is set in a beautiful garden and we ate our dinner outside on the garden table one night. It is quiet and peaceful at Friary View, perfect for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious and we discovered Dermot is a retired chef. The pancakes are not to be missed! It is about a 10 minute walk down to the end of the road and then a few minutes into town. So close to everything you could want. The stroll along the road to Friary View is lovely. There is parking on site and the WiFi was good. We would absolutely recommend a stay with Mary and Dermot. Thank you so much to both of you for making our stay in Killarney memorable.
