Ideally set in Kilkenny, Butler House offers an à la carte breakfast and free WiFi. This guest house provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace.

The breakfast was very good, the eggs were cooked just right. The room was very big with soft carpets. Only after visiting the castle (just 5 minutes by foot) we learned that the house has a historical importance. It's also 5-7 minutes by foot in another direction to the older part of the town with a lot of bars and other landmarks. There was a private parking available.

Location was great, within walking distance to everything. Room was clean and beds comfortable. It is above a bar so expect noise but we decided to join in on the music below. So much fun!

We were made to feel so special as we just got engaged. We were so surprised at how accommodating the hotel was. Our room was upgraded, we were treated to chocolates and procesco, and a VIP breakfast which was absolutely gorgeous and such a lovely surprise. We loved the VIP room - a ski chalet theme that was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights. A cosy, romantic atmosphere that made our stay even more special. The health suite was top class especially the infinity pool.

The hotel is very family friendly, which is great. The live music in the lobby was lovely to sit and relax with a drink. You can see they have upgraded their rooms. Having a mini fridge was great for drinks and snacks for my daughter. A great selection at breakfast from the buffet and the food at the hot counter too. Would definitely go back.

The hotel is beautiful with friendly staff. The grounds are fab, with short or long walks which makes a great start to a sunny day with plenty of fresh air. Food is excellent and breakfast is well organised with a self service area. The room had a balcony looking out onto the gardens. The pool is a lovely relaxed space with a jacuzzi and steam room and it was great to have the pool to ourselves at times. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Lyrath and look forward to another visit in the future.
