A great hotel located in a charming location just on the river. At first we were a bit afraid for the potential noise of the water during the night (I am a light sleeper), but the room had an exceptional soundproofing. The city center is at 5 minutes walk, so it is possible just to leave the car in public parking nearby and enjoy your visit by walking. The room was really spacious and decorated with taste. The bathroom was also really spacious. All in all, we really did enjoy our stay at this hotel.

La Chaumiere is located in Dole, between Dijon and Besançon in eastern France. It offers en suite accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool and a Michelin-starred restaurant.

I have stayed at La Chaumiere many times, previously with my two dogs, which were welcomed as warmly as I was, and allowed to sit with me in the dining room. The restaurant was closed this time, which was a shame because the food is out of this world. The woods around the corner are wonderful to walk in too. I could not recommend this place more.
