I mentioned it was my birthday.Balloons and two sweeties in my room.Then early evening a bottle of Cava in an ice bucket was delivered to my room by a delightful waitress who told me this was with the complements of the hotel for my birthday!All completely unexpected and it made my 74 th birthday one to remember! A most enjoyable night at the hotel where we had dinner bed and breakfast.The young staff were all friendly hard working and professional.

Everything was great again! The beach, the view, the staff, the breakfast, the location, etc. It's the second time I am staying in this hotel. But this year, I was with my baby. I will definitely consider a longer visit for the next one. It was too short.

The property is gorgeous and very well kept, with rooms comfortable and each including some outdoor seating for extra space, and with communal areas catering to all needs: pool and garden with chairs/hammocks, onsite café, communal kitchen well stocked with individual lockers, bike parking, and even an area to hang clothes to dry after a beach day. Clearly the management cares after the space and the plants in the courtyard and garden, which are lavish.

I was staying here with my 4 months old baby daughter for 3 nights in July 2022. We had the only room on the second floor, with direct access to the roof top patio with ocean view. It was brilliant. We basically had the whole roof top patio all for ourselves. From the bed, we were looking on plants and a seating area that belonged to the room. Behind that were several chairs and tables that are supposedly used for breakfast normally, but nobody was using them during the time of our stay. Everything was super clean and the room was very nice. It even had a fridge. It was basically two rooms, a bedroom and a lounge area with sofa and TV, that were separated by a wooden room divider. The location was very central in the old town with cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and the beach all in close walking distance. The only downside was that it could get rather noisy at night since there were bars right next to the hostel. However, we found a perfect solution for this: the sofa was convertible to a bed, so we slept in that part of the room - if you close the door between the two areas it is nice and quite there. The ladys at reception were very nice and helpful - thank you very much for that! I wish we could have stayed longer but the Hostal was unfortunately fully booked for the following two nights. Therefore, we had to move to another place for our last two nights which cost almost the same but was a lot less nice than Hostal El Alojado de Velarde.

Nice place, clean, near the beach, beautiful sunset. We could park in the parking hotel (10 euros), but we parked on a street beside the hotel fence, which was free. We preferred the beach instead of the pool. Large beach, just a few people, nice water, beautiful rocks and pictures.
