Really enjoyed our stay at the Raton Pass Motor Inn - nice to find unique, comfortable accommodations for the same price or less as a generic and often mediocre chain hotel. The property was well-maintained and loved the theme rooms and retro decor. The location was great, close to I-25 and within walking distance of town. Friendly owners, free coffee and nibbles to start the day and a quiet night’s sleep - what’s not to like?

What was not to like? Nothing.

The motor inn was easy to find. If you are heading north on 25 take the last exit for Raton; if you're heading south on 25 take the first exit for Raton. There was hot coffee and a cold breakfast. Quite appropriate. The owners were gracious and accommodating. The rooms were thematically decorated.

A little further out of town and not really walkable to eateries but I didn't mind because it was quite and a beautiful setting. Also, conveniently located right off the the 25.

The owners were so nice and very accommodating and the room was decorated so cute! They even had some nice amenities like a doggie relief area and fire pit and BBQ and grab and go breakfast! Highly reccomend!

The neighbours could be heard through the wall. I was hoping to observe the stars at night from the safety of the hotel parking area, but there were just too many lights around.

Michael and Brandy were extremely friendly and welcoming. They gave us lots of information about what to do in the area. The breakfast provided was very good. The rooms have different themes, and our "Santa Fe Trail" room was tastefully decorated. The hotel is on the edge of town, and so is relatively quiet in terms of passing traffic.

A little musty smell when you fist get in the room.

The room was not your average room. It was a vintage style room. I enjoyed the style. The coffee was great the next morning, too. They had a lot of vintage stuff in where they had breakfast goodies. It's a great little place to stay.

What a unique spot to stay for a night! The owners were so easy to work with and had clear instructions for accessing our room as we arrived late at night. The vintage charm of the main office, the cozy breakfast table and breakfast bites and the comfort of our room made our stay memorable. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area!

The Motel is in a quiet location but close to the historic district. The owners and staff are ever so friendly and helpful. I understand that the rooms are all different. I was in the pin-up room, just great! A flashback into the 1950s. Even though the Motel seems to be from that time, it is in very good shape. I travel a lot, this is one of my favourites! Highly recommended.

I cant say that there was anything I didn't like.

The place was older but had been well cared for and had a nostalgic theme which I thought was very quaint and enjoyed and was very clean . Staff was very friendly and helpful. My door locked but as it was older didn't fit right the latch did not keep the door latched the dead bolt did work and secured the door well enough for me to feel safe.

What a gem! So much character, comfortable beds (HUGE king bed), incredibly friendly staff. Nice small limited breakfast assortment. 100% will stay here again. Stay here if you want something different than your typical motel while still being somewhat affordable. No frills, older AC/heat units and bathrooms, but that was not an issue.

The floor isn't level, seriously unlevel in multiple spots. This could be a problem with those with mobility issues.

The bed seems hard but you kind of sink into it, it was very comfortable. Plenty of pillows and amazing hot water. Nice big room, very clean!

Breakfast food was OK, but there was only one table to sit at, so later arrivals for breakfast had nowhere to sit.

Themed rooms were a lovely idea. Really friendly staff. Nice collection of memorabilia in the reception area.
