To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe elevator was very small. Room for about 2 people with one bag each. But it didn't cause any problems. Bathroom was very small too. Small as in you can't open the shower door all the way because it hits the toilet. Again, not a problem though. I would definitely stay here again.
Room was clean. Good location. Looks newly renovated. Air conditioner worked excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly.

GermanySome staff at the reception desk was very friendly but some were just mediocre. But overall, I was very satisfied with our stay.
The grocery store was just across the street-they also have a take-out food. Even though the breakfast was not included, we were able to buy something small for breakfast from the store. The subway was just a few minutes walking distance so it was very convenient to get to other locations. I loved the location of the hotel-we walked to Rockefeller Center, Central Park, children shops-Schwarz, M&Ms, Hershey’s Chocolate, Time Square. The hotel offers tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The cleaning staff was very friendly and the room was super clean.

Bedroom was perfectly clean and renovated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. Location is brilliant, right in the middle of the theater district and 5 minutes from Times Square, but no noise was heard inside the room.

United States of AmericaThe first night we were there, we realized we had slept in a bed that the sheets were never changed on them. There were stains and lipstick. When brought to the attention of the staff, they were friendly and apologetic. We were not mad; we just let them know. Everything else was excellent. We were within walking distance for everything we did!
Staff was friendly and helpful when we asked questions about transportation and sites. The beds were so comfortable!

SwitzerlandCheck out is at 11am and they charge 2$ to leave the luggage at the hotel. I think most people count on being able either to have late check out (they don’t) or leave luggage for free.

United States of AmericaNice people at desk. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. There was so much noise I couldn’t sleep. Although my partner slept comfortably. It was strictly the noise at night as I was coming from the hospital and didn’t want to go home and needed rest. Oh, the maid opened the door at 10 AM while I was still getting dressed. Check out is 11AM. That’s other reason for the 7 out of 10.

The property was kept in wonderful order. There was no extra noise (besides the city noise of course), and the rooms were turned out beautifully every day. The location was so close to the center of Times Square, and there was a market located conveniently on the corner. They were lovely people and made it a great stay!

Nice desk staff.. but when I emailed ahead to ask for recommendations for parking during my stay, they offered nothing except that the hotel doesn't have parking. It might be nice to have some parking contacts/affiliates on hand.
