Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Walls were thin and people were very loud next door and seemed as though they were living in the unit. Smoke alarm from adjacent room went off several times before 8am. These things are not the hotel's fault. Pillows were very thin and uncomfortable.
The staff was very friendly especially on such a busy day as the eclipse. This hotel's location on Rte 7 gave easy access to the waterfront and downtown areas without such chaos.

The room had a faint smell of cigarettes, as if it was previously a smoking room. It was very clean, just had a bit of an odor.

I would have like to have almond milk for breakfast as I am lactose intolerant. Also, the smell of the air that came from the air ventilation in from the bathroom air trap was not clean. We could detect some traces of cigarette or pot smoking residues or other un fresh smells. With some air fresheners, it was alright. The hotel provided me with a free bottle, we used it 3-4 times a day and it was ok. The room was clean.
Very nice suite on the third floor The kitchenette was a great perk, space and equipment was very nice. Generous breakfast that had everything. Access to the pool and training equipment was great. Warm welcome with Gwen, she was very helpful and nice.

The alarm went off at 10 bec of a burnt popcorn and we were awaken by it.

When we first checked in there was a sleeping bag and water bottle in the room like maybe someone had been camping out. Went to see the front desk and they resolved it immediately, moved us into a bigger room, so that was nice. Area around the hotel feels a bit seedy, but it wasn’t a bother for us.
Staff were amazing and accommodating. We picked this hotel because it is dog friendly. Breakfast was a nice addition, but little options for my vegan girlfriend (this is totally a normal experience for her)

The smell in the hallway was off-putting ( smelled like feet), and the heat in the room was sooooo hot! Even when we tried to turn it down, it never went below 82 in December!!

The sheets didn’t fit the bed well enough for 2 people in a king size bed. Also the bathroom light in room 104 flickers before it turns on which could be dangerous if someone has light sensitivity.
The bed was comfortable despite the sheet not fitting the bed.

The location wasnt good as its a low income neighborhood. A lot of unwanted loitering around. The walls were paper thin and noise carries far.
The price was fine and so was the breakfast. The staff was helpful and kind.

We stayed on the third floor of the building. Walking through the narrow and long hallway, a strong and disgusting smell was felt along the way which didn’t go away despite both windows at the end of the corridor being fully open. Entering the suite, an annoying smell would immediately hit us, coming from the kitchenette and probably related to the cooking done by previous guests. It was really bad and we had to let all the windows open during the day to have some fresh air remove the odor, which stubbornly persisted during the whole stay. Turning on the AC, it was at least not noticeable in the bedroom.
The suite we had was quite spacious and clean, though the furniture were a bit old. The air conditioning was very effective and the room was very quiet.

The place has definitely seen better days and needs a major renovation, but everything that needed to function functioned and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was poor: no fresh fruit, no cereal not laden with sugar.
