Madeira unfortunately has a huge mosquito population and I think the property would benefit from some measures to help reduce this, they were a nightmare!

Great location, near Machico, but as others have mentioned you really need a car. I would recommend this anyway as Madeira has so many stunning places. It’s a small space (think hotel room with a small kitchenette), but great for making coffee and breakfast. I actually liked the fact it overlooked the airport, really cool to see the planes taking off and they do not go late into the night. The cafe across the road is great and really handy. Views, like most of Madeira are beautiful.

The room for our family 3 adults was very tiny, the bed was very large and for two people one blanket- it is very comfortable. The most uncomfortable thing was that it was very wet in there, the clothes didn’t dry and the smell of the air wasn’t good.

The main thing that it is close to airport. there are gardens and other areas to sit and have picnic with friends.

There was a mixup on the number of beds. We needed to request an extra bed, and it ended up being squeaky and somewhat uncomfortable. Also we had to buy dishwashing and hand soap.

Beautiful patio, grounds and view of the water and airport! The host was also very responsive. Great location with grocery store nearby.

we arrived late at night and nobody told us we could just open the gate ourselves and go to our room and find the keys. The room was different from the one assigned to us. The phone number was unreachable. I think you do need a car to go to find restaurants or have a walk around. The hot water in the shower is not really sufficient for two people

it is very close to the airport, parking is quite easy but it can be busy at weekend nights because of the bar in front. The apartment is well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The garden is very nice. it’s a nice quiet location

All of the above advantages were crossed out by the fact that on the day of our arrival they simply forgot about us. We booked an apartment for 3 people (against the hosts this was confirmed additionally), but in the end they prepared 1 bed and 1 set of towels for us. There was simply nowhere for parts of our family to go to bed. There was no feedback from the owners, their phone was turned off. As a result, we had to sleep on the floor, spreading the bedspreads from the beds and a blanket from the closet. Only the next day at lunch the hostess came and brought with them extra beds, linen and sets of towels.

Lovely large apartment, wonderful well-groomed garden, pleasant atmosphere, peace and quiet. Add to that fast internet, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and you have a great place to travel around Madeira. It is assumed that you have a car, as it is extremely difficult to get anywhere by public transport.

One can be disappointed by bar or airport noise, however, we enjoyed watching planes coming and going. At late night it wasn't noisy. Without car, it takes a bit of walking to the top of the mountain, but we did it a couple of times from Machico and from the airport.

Very big terrace with a view to the ocean. Large apartment with outdoor area. Big kitchen. Car parking was available. Close to Machico beach and the airport. You can enjoy a very quiet nice place and beach in Machico (vs crowded Funchal).

The only problem we had was that ants began to appear on our last night in the accomodation and a few loud guests had checked into the apartment next door, these would have been bigger issues if we had stayed longer, but since these issues only appeared on the last night, we weren't too badly affected. These are also issues that are not in the hosts control.

The apartment was very clean and in a neat condition. We felt very comfortable instantly on the property and it was very quiet. The location was central enough to get around easily but not so central that you felt like you were directly in a tourist zone, although I would definitely recommend getting a car if you stay in this accommodation.

Confusion over when credit card payment taken. We booked this area to be reasonably close to the airport for the journey home and considered ten minutes away a sensible distance. What you should know is the fact that whilst the terminal is ten minutes by car, the runway is only one minute by car and the noise from aircraft (particularly taking off is very, very loud. The flights could start between 5-6am a nd the latest one in the week we were there, was 11pm. That said, there were probably no more than thirty flights a day and as I have said you get a brilliant view of the runway from our Mimosa apartment terrace. It was surreal to be laid in bed listening to the Dawn Chorus, get blasted by 45 seconds of full blast aircraft noise, and then back to the Dawn Chorus. The bar is very quiet most of the week but just be aware that on our stay Fri/Sat nights were very busy until gone two in the morning. No music noise, just people coming and going. Ants have been mentioned in reviews and they were a nuisance, especially for us as we were self catering and therefore had a good selection of foods. The only really safe place was the fridge/freezer. The kitchen was hopeless for storing opened food and we found ants as far into the apartment as the bedroom and the lounge. Although not many made it that far I did find three or four in my cup of water which was by my bedside overnight drink.) The car boot was the only really storage area, and thankfully air temperatures do not get excessively high in Madeira so this is possible. Fully accept we are in a warm climate country but we did not have any ant issue in any of the other three apartments where like this one we stayed each for a week. It is a lovely apartment and you must decide if these are issues that concern you.

Loved the very large private terrace, the barbeque was superb, and the proximity of the continente supermarket. The views of aircraft landing and departing was fun (see below) and as a driver it was good to have a lovely bar opposite (see below)

Good value for money with all necessary amenities. The parking outside was easy and plentiful. The bed was really comfortable.

Kitchen equipment was very basic. There was a lack of essential items like an extra garbage bag for disposal, additional toilet paper or cutting board. A major downside was the lack of a jacuzzi, which was listed in the offer.

The apartment was tidy with clean bedding. A plus was the towel replacement every few days. The garden around the property was very clean and well-maintained

Location right next to airport which means noice. Also next door is a cafe that plays loud music constantly. Pillows are very uncomfortable - made of plastic? Only masquito net on one window - very hot and many masquitos so we got eaten.

More of a warning for sensitive people: the place is close to the airport so you can see and hear airplanes taking off. Nothing to be done about it of course and was not a problem for me.

Lovely apartment, with an amazing terrace, very comfortable and well equipped. The bed is extremely comfortable and everything is spacious and clean, with very good lighting. The tiny courtyard is a lovely bonus, making for a safe access point and a place to enjoy during the day if you wish so. Even if not all facilities were not available at the time of my stay (the jacuzzi for example), I missed no comfort and the host was very open, helpful and communicative about everything. I even had a bit of shower trouble, part of it my own fault and she was very prompt in helping me and offering options. Bonus: a lovely kitty is there so if you like that kind of furry company, bring treats ^^

Noisy nightclub opposite. Low flying aircraft. No fan in bathroom. Telly but no service except youtube. Poor facilities in kitchen if self catering. Scant support from staff.
