How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had a room on the first floor, so it was a bit noisy with sounds of running water in the pipes and passing subway.
Very good place, close to the city center, so you can walk easily. Very nice personal. Good breakfast. Bed was super comfortable.

The view from the room was not very nice (to the inner court).
Breakfast was excellent. Great location. Overall a nice and comfortable hotel.

The room is clean and comfortable. The air-conditioning system is good enough. The Breakfast is also very nice, although the coffee does not taste very well. The WiFi is fast and stable; it is very convenient for those who need to work.

We could hear the metro from our room but it didn’t stop us from sleeping. Lots of homeless near the hotel but they didn’t bother us and although the area seems a bit rough we never had any issues and felt safe walking everywhere. It’s approximately a 20 min walk into the centre but metro near by.
Nice room, excellent hot shower. Safe in the room is €3 a night but should be free and tea/coffee facilities in the room would be nice. There is a mini bar in the room which we could store our water bottle in over night and the breakfast is good.

There was, very surprisingly, no kettle in the room. This is the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel without tea or coffee making facilities! We booked a 4* hotel and made the assumption that our room would have a kettle! The hotel bar closed at 10.00 pm - there was, again surprisingly, no-one else there, so no atmosphere. The bar tender, once found, was friendly and helpful and happy to serve us!
Very clean, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds.

Towels were a little thin. Pillows were slightly umcomfy. One was lumpy and one was too soft. On one day the water was cold and we had to have cold showers before going out.
The location was good. A little bit out of the town. The room was bright and clean. The air conditioning was great. There was toiletries and a hairdryer. A safe in the room to use at a small cost per day. Comfy bed.

Very noisy. Could do with double glazing, hard to sleep. Cooked breakfast was unfortunately cold, baked beans freezing as if not heated at all.
Very clean and friendly staff and near all amenities.

The room was neat, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate, with hot items available. Located near a metro stop. There are many restaurants in the area to choose from. The staff was extremely helpful.

The sound of underground was a little bit annoying
Hotel was near city centre and old town with good public transport links. Room was very clean and decent sized. 24 HR reception and good, tasty breakfast.

Room was nice and clean, staff were very nice. It was our daughters 2nd birthday and they left us a nice bottle of sparkling wine on the day, was a nice touch, very well appreciated!

The water is flooding the bathroom if you use the bathtub to take a bath.
Any problems for one night, nothing special, just what we expected. For 60e3uros its ok, not for more.

As it is next to a main street of Lissabon and isolation to neighbouring rooms is not good, you should consider to bring hearing protection for sleeping.
Next to subway and tram station. Not too far away from town center. Breakfast was not great, but OK.
