How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Garbage collection happens in the early morning just outside the front windows.
Candelaria, who received us, was wonderfully friendly and spot on with local recommendations. Anna was efficient in arranging a transfer.

Would have liked a full length mirror - perhaps by the wardrobe.
Very central location, mezzanine floor ideal for our teenage son. Lots of character in the binding and a modern interior. Very well equipped.

The seating in the living room wasn’t the most comfortable, but it was just a slight detail.
Really nice apartment in a great location. We all slept like babies despite the building being on the main street.

Amazing apartment! Just book it! We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment for 2 nights and we had a good time! The apartment is extremely clean and the location is perfect. Only 5-10 mins walk to most of the touristic sites. The apartment is facing the street side but we don't hear any noise. It also get an amazing view over Porto Cathedral. It's also possible to store our luggages after check out at RVA office, which is located right next to the apartment. Overall, we highly recommend it.

The only issue was that the cot provided - the mattress was very thin and lumpy, I imagine the cot is quite old and well used. My baby wouldn't sleep in it, so I ended up having to keep her in bed with me, and my husband had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. If it wasn't for this, I would have given the property a 10. Also the knob for shower in the bathroom kept falling off.
Amazing location, within a 10 minute walk to all the main sights. A nice flat, well kitted out. Kitchen has mostly everything (just missing an oven mitt) The staff were really nice, helpful and easy to communicate with. They always responded very quickly. They were able to provide a cot and a high chair for my baby. The high chair really came in handy.

Because of the constructions around Porto centrum, getting to/from with the taxi is horrible. Only one pillow per person, which is too little and the pillow is horribly too thin.
The location is fantastic. Good value for 4 people.

The chap at the reception was very pleasant and helpful. Porto is such a great place to visit; its people are very friendly and there is lots to see and take in. However, the apartment is on quite a busy, noisy street - sounds of the city, which was fine by us. The building is solid enough; so if there was anyone else in it, we didn't hear them.

The hot water was limited and caught my girlfriend by surprise as she was showering. You have to wait for the pressure to build again before having hot water again.
Very clean and comfortable room with plenty of space. The staff are very helpful and answered any questions we had. The location was perfect, close to meeting points for any activities we planned and close to sight seeing places.

The check in process was great, and very helpful in explaining to us the main sights to see in Porto. The location really is very central, and the apartment remains quiet even though it is right in the middle of the historic city. The apartment is also beautiful, nicer than it looks in the photos, with lots of natural light. It was a really great stay!

We enjoyed the location - which was central to everything! Most places were walkable or it was easy to get an Uber or Taxi. The apartment was nicely furnished with lots of space and many amenities. The apartment is very sunny and bright with lovely views. And there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. There was an elevator which was great since we were on the 4th floor. The staff was very responsive and friendly and their office was right next door so it was easy to get a hold of them online or in-person if we had any questions. We had a minor issue and the staff was very quick to respond and send someone over to address it right away — which we greatly appreciated! We would highly recommend this place and would stay here again!
