How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It is in the bar district so noisy. Although this didn't bother us so much, it would have been nice to have some air flow as the room got really stuffy overnight. You couldn't leave the patio door open and no window. I don't know how this would be in the summer! The stairs are steep and shallow - be careful!
The beds were very comfortable and the sheets crisp and clean. The shower was good, and although the bathroom small, wad updated and functional. Close to lots of great restaurants, bars and sites. Easy to get around. The staff were nice at check in. Nice to have a small communal kitchen space and fridge to use.

Unfortunately the power went of several times, when we contacted the host they cared about it immediately but still we had quite some time without light in the bathroom.
The host was easy to reach and very helpful, the room was very clean and like the pictures and it was warm. The location is very central and easy to reach.

Too many pubs around, disturbance while sleeping. That is the only and one issue.
The central location and everything is at walking distance. Everything about this place is good, the location, the staff very polite and friendly, going out of their way to help us, also the immediate response from staff regarding all our queries on booking dot com.

Noise from the outside clubs/bars on Friday-Sat night around 10-2AM can be bothering to some people. Walls are also pretty thin so we could hear people having sex in the 2 mornings in the row was the worst.
Great location, walkable to all tourist spots.

The room was smaller than we thought and not as nice as we thought. It was also really noisy at night. Lots of clubs and bars on the street.
The staff were very helpful and the location was very convenient.

It was extremely noisy until at least 3am every evening. They do give you ear plugs but I found it very hard to sleep. The covers on the bed did not fit well and left my partner and I cold often for a trip in December .

Not enough room for clothes. The bathroom was too noisy. A small table would be nice as well as one more chair.
It was clean and cosy. The staff was exceptional.

We asked for change the towels and they bring to us dirty ones. At the check-in the guy said that for our last day we could leave our luggage in the hotel not to carry them around during. The last days, before the check-out, I texted to him for leaving luggage but did not receive any feedback.
The cost of the hotel is very cheap compared to other hotel in the zone and also in the city. Good position if you want to party.

The neighbourhood is loud, bars are just around the corner and the windows don't isolate the noise at night. It's a great place when one is out in the city till 1/2 am, not recommended for children/families most certainly.
Located very well in the heart of the city and very close to a scenic view pont over the city. The room was clean the bedsheets crisp and perfect. The host was very sweet and allowed for flexibility on the early check in time.

There's a lot of noise until 2 am because it is situated on the party street of Barro Alto.
Very close to everything! Good price to have a room for ourselves. The shared kitchen was very useful

A little bit small as a room. We were two people, there were 3 beds so one bed took a lot of space
