Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsI missed some privacy like curtains in the bathroom. Taking a shower during nighttime felt like giving a show to the neighbors. I easily fixed it to let the shower run om hot for a minut or 2 so that the steam made it impossible to look trough the windows :)
The appartement was very clean and nice to stay. We were at the ground floor apartment, just outside the apartment is passing the tram 28 trough the narrow street. It's very funny to see. Nearby there are more than enough restaurants and famous hotspots to visit. We've met Antonio, one of the hosts. He was very kind, told us about things to see and visit on certain days like the famous market on Saturday. He also shared a list of his favorite restaurants. I really recommend staying in this apartment. Yeah I heard the tram but it didn't really bothered me and my cousin.

Very clean and comfortable. Trolley stop is right outside the front door. Coffee shop is next door. Air conditioning.

SwedenWhile our stay was enjoyable overall, one downside was the noise from the road and neighboring apartments, which could be heard clearly. However, since we were mostly out exploring during the day, it didn't affect us too much. Perhaps a gentle reminder could be given to the other costumers to keep noise levels down, especially after midnight, to ensure a peaceful night's rest for everyone in the building.
We had a fantastic stay at this cozy apartment in the heart of Lisbon's Afalma district. Its central location made it incredibly convenient to explore the city's attractions, with everything just a stone's throw away. The staff were incredibly welcoming, offering invaluable tips and recommendations that enriched our experience. The thoughtful gesture of welcoming us with sparkling wine added a special touch to our stay. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Lisbon

DenmarkTram 28 is just outside, very charming but also very disturbing between 5.30 and midnight.

Luisa was absolutely brilliant on arrival. Showed me around the apartment etc and gave me some info on the local area....shops, restaurants and left luggage places for my departure date. The location was just perfect and having the 28 tram stop outside made for some lovely photos.

NetherlandsThere was no place to dry clothes/balcony was tiiiny. Utensils were very few and there is no dishwasher, so multiple times washing was required.
The property is at an amazing location with restaurants and attractions very close by and the Tram 28 stop right at the doorstep. The apartment size was quite good. The bed and couch were very comfortable. The tv had Netflix connection as well. There was coffee, sugar, salt etc provided as well as cleaning material. Also, a dehumidifier and an air conditioning unit was provided.

GreeceOne aspect that could be improved was the smell in the apartment, which we attributed to the humidity. While it was a minor inconvenience, especially noticeable when we first arrived, it didn't significantly impact our overall enjoyment of our time in Lisbon.
Our stay at the apartment in Lisbon was fantastic. The location was superb, allowing us easy access to all the city's attractions. We enjoyed exploring the charming streets and discovering hidden gems nearby. The apartment itself was cozy and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

United KingdomAll in all it was excellent but just a word of warning regarding the noise from the tram as it passes right past the front door (which is great for travelling around but it may wake you in the morning!)
Good location in a nice area, lots of nice bars/restaurants nearby and also near to shops for essentials. Apartment was nicely furnished and equipped with everything we needed for our stay, would definitely recommend.

CanadaShower was slippery and I mentioned that to the owner. I had thought there was a reception desk, but I did not read the description correctly, so I had to make my way without the aid of reception, however the contact person who finally made it to the property to open the door, did help me with a few questions I had.
Great location right on the #28 trolley line. Had all of the amenities I needed.

GermanyAlthough the noise insulation was good, the constant tram noises could bother people with light sleep. The bathroom had a particular stink but I suspect that it was due to the old infrastructure.
Excellent host - very kind, helpful and accommodating. He allowed us to check in earlier, left us gifts in the apartment and sent us recommendations for our trip. The location is great and the building is secure (from human intervention and rodents as there is always a certain risk at apartments at Alfama). The apartment is spacious and light. It has everything you might need during a stay (including coffee capsules, soap, shower gel, etc. which might come natural to you, but isn't provided in many places in the area). I was able to work comfortably from the apartment and enjoyed touristic sights when I could.

United StatesCable car passes passes 10' away so you hear it every time. I'm a light sleeper but it didn't bother me to much. the only way to reach it is by cable car and they can be hard to get a spot on. The metro santa apolonia while a short walk, it's at the bottom of a very big hill. Getting to it's not an issue but coming home after walking all day is not pleasant. Fortunately an uber from BAXIA is only 4-5 euro. Train to porto departs from santa apolonia. Decent resturants near by
We stayed on the 1st floor which in the USA would have been the 2nd floor. Room was good sized, water pressure and shower were excellent. Cooking option nice. TV worked, good wifi. There is an excellent coffee shop almost next door, with great sandwiches and baked goods Restaurants near by are pretty good

CanadaResidents area garbage pick out is right outside the door. Garbage is picked up nightly at 11:30pm and it’s very noisy. The trams run until 11 but I got used to that and it was advertised as such.
It was as advertised, very spacious for European standards, well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and couch and good shower. Very nostalgic being on the tram 28 line.

AustraliaNothing. There is a tram that passes right by the apartment, so if you're sensitive to noise it could be a bother. That being said, I am sensitive to noise and was not bothered by the tram - it added to the ambience!
Awesome location (although very hilly!). The apartment is beautiful and spacious. Nice little kitchen, nice bathroom, comfortable bed. Perfect little place.
