Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe Hotel is on the top of a hill in Lisbon, a few minutes from one of the central metro stations on foot. The view from the room was spectacular. Breakfast is sufficient. The staff is nice and very helpful.

BelarusThe breakfast was rather modest. It lacked any hot meal option, e.g. omelet or else, which were offered for extra price despite the fact I have already paid for the breakfast. Also I've noticed that staff entered the room when I was out for a day once. I was confused by this fact, as I'd expect a little more privacy once I'm checked in.
The hotel has an old fashioned vibe which is nice. It's located on the top of the hill, and I had a room with the view over the city and river. The room was spacious, well furnished and clean. There's a subway station in 10 min walk and a team stop in 5 min walk from the hotel.

United StatesThe room next to us had guests who decided to stay up all night. We had to get up early for our flight so we got zero sleep as the rooms are not sound proof. Since we were from out of the country, we didn't feel safe to say anything to the neighbors or the hotel staff.
The staff was very accommodating, pleasant and helpful.

HungaryThe rooms are clean and everything is totally functioning properly. However, some of the stuff are relatively old and worn out. Like the light switches or the gardrobes. Apart from these purely visual issues, the hotel is perfect!
The hotel has an excellent staff, nice and at your service all the time. The view to Lisbon is beautiful.

Fabulous location next to one of Lisbon's best known viewpoints. Fantastic view from my bedroom and the breakfast room. Good value breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Slightly old fashioned 1970s feel to the place made for a very relaxing stay.

United StatesThe shower did not have adequate pressure; the hotel states there is a terrace and bar, however the terrace is only open for breakfast and there is no "bar" - you can order wine, but there is no real selection.
The location was wonderful, as were the staff.

United StatesI stayed here 11 years ago and it seems they haven’t invested the necessary resources to keep it alive and vibrant. The upstairs restaurant used to serve drinks and they weren’t doing that anymore; the beds were super uncomfortable; the shower substandard; and the tv was tiny. This was a gem a decade ago and now not so much other than the location and the amazing view.
The location is amazing…arguably the best views in the city and away from the tourist areas except the viewpoint

United StatesNo tea/coffee in the room. Pillows were small and not very comfortable- although additional ones were quickly provided upon request. The location on top of one of the highest hills in Lisbon tended to deter us from returning to the hotel during the day.. No variety in the breakfast from day to day.
The stunning views from the terrace and the breakfast room. Clean and comfortable room, helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent.

PortugalThis was a view with a room. Amazing views over everything, but the room itself was small and elderly, and so was the bathroom. Very convenient for Alfama, steep trot to downtown. Good for one night but I wouldn’t have wanted to be there longer.

AustraliaNo coffee/tea facilities in room. No power points next to bed. Foyer area could be more comfortable as an area to wait for fellow travellers/or to do research tasks away from room. No bar or coffee area in service…amazing top floor restaurant closed-only used for breakfast, needs to open up for more than that - the jewel of the hotel.
Great location, amazing view, easy walking and transport. Close to restaurants and coffee shops, supermarket.

CanadaThe decor is a bit dated and breakfast was quite expensive ( we didn't take it at the hotel since many options nearby).
The room was spacious and had a wonderful view. It's in a great location with nearby restaurants. You can walk down to the main tourist areas or take a tram.
