Everything! This was easily the BEST service that we have ever had in our lives of traveling. The whole team at Carocal are so welcoming, friendly and helpful from the very moment you arrive until the moment you leave. If you’re sitting out on the beach sun lounges for sunset, staff bring you glasses of champagne to enjoy while you watch it go down. Every single night, someone brings a new mini dessert to your room and if you’re not there, they leave it in your bar fridge for you so it’s always so nice to come home to! We were even offered a cheese platter and bottle of wine to enjoy on our last night there but we were out in town so missed it - but the thought was very kind and we really appreciated it! Special shout out to Angel who remembered our preferences for breakfast every morning.

Room was good with great bathroom area. I booked the double room for two people but there were still two double beds in the room which was a little strange - wish that was clearer when booking. It says 'beach front' but it's really 'partial beach view'. Terrace need a bit more furniture or a hammock on it to maximise the space. Beach area was ok but a little disappointing - basically a narrow strip of sand with low covers. Not the best on the beach, particularly when seaweed levels were high. Prices are on the higher end than its value but you're paying for island location. Would have liked more activities like bike rental, boat trips or yoga classes included.

Beautiful hotel set a bit away from the noisy end of town. The pool area was particularly amazing and a real rarity and bonus for the island as it was for hotel guests only. Breakfast was one of the best we had in mexico and included in the price. Staff were super friendly.

Nothing at all to dislike!

Absolutely beautiful well appointed rooms with a variety of configurations. The location is perfect - in a quiet area with a beautiful beach, great restaurant and pool, excellent service and friendly staff. Although we rented golf carts for our two day one night stay, it would have been just as good to use a 4 hour rental to explore, and then take advantage of the hotel facilities and other nearby beach clubs / bars within walking distance.

Everything was wonderful! The staff was just the best! Haven't had that kind of service in a long time. Food was exceptional! The location in Holbox was great! Right on the beach. Had a family reunion plus a teenage birthday. The employees went out of their way to make our stay above average. We cannot say enough about out stay and the accommodations!

The wasps present when eating in the morning two mornings were horrible (swarming around people eating) but this was mostly remedied after that. I found the prices very expensive at the restaurant on site so we walked to town for all our other meals and the walk each way was 20mins.

Beach was beautiful there was some sea weed cleared completely to the side each morning but not completely away. Rooms were modern and comfortable. The breakfast included was very tasty with many options. Hotel was quiet and peaceful.

We had a hard time with a very chewy octopus in the restaurant, but that was really the only thing and the rest of the food was delicious !

All in a very nice stay in Isla Holbox - the downs are really no fault to the hotel at all and those you will find everywhere on the island. Occasionally too loud music from the neighbours, but that is the case for pretty much all the hotels on the islands.

The right side of the beach, with nicely decorated rooms and a cosy outside space. Very nice breakfast options and all in a good spot.

Away from crowds-quiet. Excellent restaurant on site. Service was superb. Lots of nice small touches incl welcome drink, champagne at sunset, desserts in room every night, and free kayaks.

The tip culture. Especially at the breakfast, although this was included in our reservation, we still received the bill after every breakfast with the clear note that tip was not included. The relaxing area is not that impressive as there is a public road between the hotel and beach, which creates a lot of noise of the golf carts crossing by when you are trying to enjoy the sounds of the waves. Also the beach part is pretty packed and there are always people walking around. In fact thats the issue on entire island beach.

Very comfortable rooms and well designed. Pool was clean and with different places to relax. Menu in the restaurant had various options during breakfast, lunch and diner.

The weather in December was surprising to me, it was windy and cold and we had rain one afternoon and did not die down till the next day. Nothing to do with the hotel but they did their best so we can still have a good time and enjoy.

Hotel location in my opinion is the best. The hotel really concentrated on keeping the beach clean and facility clean. The breakfast is so good and have a good number of choices. The rooms are very spacious, and beds are comfortable. Staff was amazing and attentive.

The property was excellent.

The property is located just steps from the beach. The rooms were super clean and had all the necessities (shampoo/conditioner, body wash, lotion, insect repellent, and aloe vera lotion. I also liked the fact that the restaurant was also walking distance. The pool was clean, and staff was always readily available to offer drink/food service. The staff also offered food/drink service when laying out by the beachside.

This location is by far the best in the area

We went here for my 40th birthday. This property was amazing. Definitely five star all the way to the service was impeccable. The food was incredible the details and the location definitely the best so glad I picked this place.

There was audible noise from the corridor at night, people talking, doors closing, footsteps, etc.

The staff is excellent; it is impossible to overstate the service here; it is simply outstanding. The food was excellent, and overall, the hotel was fantastic.

Just a very small suggestion to have more Mexican food options on the menu . Also, bottled water was very expensive in the restaurant. These are minor details though, overall the food was great!

Lovely gardens at stunning beach front hotel. Staff were helpful, special shout out to Fernando and Franco for their menu recommendations! Breakfast is included and was delicious. Thank you all!

It is not a dealbreaker, but we believe the restaurant could offer few more options other than seafood/fish to cover allergic restrictions, specially when it comes to pizza flavours.

The bedroom was very quiet and spacious and the location was amazing! We loved everything about the service provided and all the attention from staff. No doubt this was one of favourite stays in our Honeymoon.
