I just started for one night but really enjoyed Desert Heart Hostel! It's located right in the center of San Jose del Cabo, and the staff were lovely. The bed was comfortable, only complaint is the lack of hot water (one shower is cold, the other was tepid). But I'd stay again!

Wi-Fi ,i don't think it ever worked. The city center area might be quite noisy at night, bring earplugs. Out of 2,5 bathrooms, only one has hot water in the shower

Nothing could be improved, in my opinion

Location was spectacular,,,, you are in the "heart " of San Jose del Cabo, all you need is right in front of you the day host went out of his way to help us with heavy luggage (!) and give us tips to the 2 best food places,, just out of the "tourist zone" hammocks on the terrace were a bonus,,,,the best stocked kitchen !

The ceiling in the dorms was sprayed with some form of covering that would fall off into the beds. It looked toxic and you would breathe it in and it would fall into your mouth while sleeping. It’s some sort of white powder. They need to scrap it all off and paint the ceiling instead.

Like all good things in life, if you pour love into something it blooms. Davi and the volunteers have mastered this at desert heart. I came alone and was treated to pure magic. The building is located in the heart of the arts district and is clean, safe and warm. Best hostel stay I've ever had - topping many hotel stays. Thank you for an incredible trip!

The double bed was a bit small. You hear everything from the room.

Very good location. Small hostel, cosy. Very clean. The volunteers were amazing, very welcoming. They organized a bbq for Xmas Eve what was awesome. The kitchen and bathroom were cleaned.

This was my first time staying in a hostel. I'm 63 and really wasn't looking for dorm life but I wanted to try the hostel experience. Having a private room allowed me to do that. One of the managers is a massage therapist so I had a massage while I was there. It was wonderful and a great value. I liked that there were reasonable rules that everyone respected. Everything was very walkable. There was a common area and seating outside, giving you the option of engaging with other guests or chilling alone. There were many restaurants, shops and galleries nearby. I hadn't been to SJC in many years and it's turned a bit "hipster." Overall, it was a great experience and has me considering hostels for future lodging. What I liked the most the very relaxed vibe. I was only there for two days, but they were two days of calm that I needed. I would not hesitate to recommend Desert Heart Hostel!

Actually nothing really l can say l didnt like or would want to change because they are already doing their best.

First of all, THE STAFF! They are amazing! They are very friendly, very helpful and very attentive. They make you feel home. You can join them for cooking,eating, chatting,hanging around,etc. Secondly, THE LOCATION! It is on the best street of the town, which is the heart of the town too. About general things, over all it is clean ( Abel, remember to take a break sometimes of cleaning😉) and spacious and has everything you would need in the kitchen. The owner Davi continuously improves the bostel by renovating and changing furnitures, decorations,etc

NADA : The location is exceptional you can access the main center La plaza, by walking, You are near restaurants, cafe, tourist stores ( I avoided them), the area is so safe, so peaceful, I highly recommend

Good hostel with very nice staff. Very pleasant vibe. Staff offered good references and advice, and as a bous, I was able to hang out with them. Chitchen is well equipped and can be used if you wanna save some money on food. Laundaring is available. Hostel has good location. If you need to cut your hair, i recommend a barber that works at the same hostel.

The location is great, right in the center of art district so walking distance to most of the things to do and places to eat. The staff are very friendly and willing to help you. Felt like a great place for a short or long stay.

The only reason I didn’t give the hostel a 10/10 really isn’t even their fault - the noise. With the location being so central, you can often hear music from surrounding bars or restaurants in the evening, especially on weekends. Not a big deal, just bring a pair of ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Perfect location in San Jose, close to the center and the art walk, all of the great restaurants, the fair, the gym, pretty much anything you could need. The staff is very friendly and kind. they all made me feel very welcome, and were receptive to any questions or concerns I had.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. After a small reservation mixup, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my girlfriend and I had a room to ourselves for valentine's day after not seeing eachother for a month.
