Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI loved the property itself but didn't love my specific room. The shower was bad and had a makeshift shower curtain. But we didn't mind or ask staff to switch us, not a deal breaker to us for the price we paid as we didn't spend time in the room. The rooftop pool was also so dirty, I would've liked to use it if it were clean. But we didn't mind that too much since you're right on the beach, we spent the whole time in the water there anyway :)
The property itself was beautiful and the landscaping throughout was very lush and jungle-y vibe. The structure is unique and makes you feel like you're in a treehouse. For a small hotel, there were a surprising amount of nice common area places to lounge, and beach chairs/hammocks. The upper rooftop area is such a cool viewpoint to watch the sunset (although use caution). It was a bit removed from town which we actually loved because the beach was WAY nicer and barely crowded at all, compared to the beach area close to town. The staff was really nice and chill. Free water jugs around the hotel to fill your bottle was appreciated! I'd recommend renting bikes, as it would take long to walk into town. Overall, if you're a chill person who just wants to relax and soak up the gorgeous Holbox island, you'll love it here and it's a good deal with good staff and atmosphere. If you're nitpicky about your room or will be inconvenienced by walking or biking, you should probably look elsewhere.

CanadaThe pool outside was dirty during our stay. Kids sometimes prefer pool over the sea and it’s hard to convince them that it’s not very clean. The door lock did not work properly. I couldn’t close the door from inside, only from outside.
Very nice location near the beach, room was good, stuff is very friendly.

CanadaBeach was long and sandy. Seaweed in our area was awful. Water was fantastic and able to walk out a good distance. Great if couples have children. Rooms were clean and spacious. The restaurant next door had good breakfasts but portions were small on certain items.

SloveniaThe seaweed (sargaso) wasn't cleaned in front of the beach chairs. The only place on this side of the island that had sargaso directly in front of you, blocking the whole view of the beautiful sea. It is 20 min walk from the city or a 150mxn taxi drive. + they ripp you off on every ride...
Nice rooms and free coffe and water. Nice beach chairs and bar.

CanadaThe bed was very hard and pillows worn out. We were on the third floor which wasn't convenient for our dog. We asked to move to a ground floor room and were refused even though the hotel wasn't busy. Too bad.
Location good as quiet being away from the Centro. A good walk into town but we like to walk.

United StatesThe hotel is in a great location and it has a lot of potential. The people working there are all super nice, friendly and willing to help. The hotel is a bit dated and it really needs some love and a deep renovation. The rooms are very humid and need to be updated

CanadaThere was a strong smell coming on the beach that turned us off. It smelled like raw sewage. The restaurant right in front of the hotel uses a generator to operate and that noise was disturbing. Finally, we wished the hotel offered a simple continental breakfast, as it is a 20-25 minute walk into town (with kids). There is no way to cook for yourself in the room. However it is a gorgeous walk on the beach, so really can't complain.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. We liked having the pool outside our room and the bar upstairs was fun. The hotel really feels like a hidden oasis. We drank instant coffee each morning and read books in the garden. It felt super safe and the kids really enjoyed being able to come and go freely. Would come back!

United StatesIt's too far off from the action, you do have to walk or ride a bike to get into town, but its also a positive, Punta Mosquito is very nearby and you can walk along the coast to ther amenities. Also, sargazo - seaweed was a real issue during my stay but it was all over Holbox. I came at the wrong time during rainy season, but the hotel andthe room were very relaxing.
Excellent stay and room! Right in front of the ocean. Great hosts, they were very respectful. The hotel was the highlight of being in Holbox, I came at the wrong time during rainy season, but this place was really enjoyable.

United KingdomOn arrival, we found the room to be very dark and odorous. It is a dated and dark interior that is uncomfortable to spend time in. Despite the fact that we spent all day out, the room was not cleaned after we put the sign to clean it. On the following day, someone cleaned the room, so the smell was gone, however, the brown stains on the bed sheets remained. Fortunately, we were able to use another bed, which looked a bit better. As soon as we needed to use the bathroom, we discovered the door was locked and we could not get in. Since it was the middle of the night, no one was available to talk to, so we used the hotel toilet next to the reception (outside of our room) and were unable to take a shower until the first employees arrived in the morning, who opened the bathroom so that we could prepare for our flight.
I loved the facilities..zen garden with hammocks and the beach set up for sunbathing, staff on the beach particularly was amazing and fun.
