Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel was as advertised, but doesn't have amenities like a fitness room, pool, full-service restaurant, outdoor seating, etc. I didn't expect those sorts of amenities for the price, but mention them so others can make an informed choice.
The hotel was clean, quiet, had friendly English-speaking staff, and a nice cafe for a latte and a quick bite. It's a great value for a very reasonable price. Trains, shopping, and restaurants are plentiful a short walk away.

Everything was perfect!
Great hotel, close to all amenities. Only a 15-minute walk to Kyoto Station, with a subway line and bus stop right at the door. Amazing breakfast, and the room is very spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

15min walk to center Umeda, no shower cap supplies

The hotel web sight had obviously been hacked as a lot of our information was used in a scam. The hotel official note tried to blame us the customer, which was not true and very rude.
Nice nice room above average space comfy bed second basin on the room was very useful.

Breakfast options.
Great location and comfortable beds, staff speak English and very helpful.The breakfast is the downfall of the hotel. The hotel should offer a buffet breakfast instead of the terrible pre ordered 4 options they offer, which may sound a lot, but it's restrictive and not suitable for a nice hotel. It is very disappointing.

Customer oriented. Lots of “small details” that make your stay amazing. Complimentary articles for your attention. Close to convenience stores, to commercial area and to metro/airport bus. Staff was also really kind.

Was a bit of a walk from the closest train station.
The property was located in a nice quiet street. The room had a good amount of space and the bed was big enough to fit myself and my partner since we are both 6 foot tall. Staff were amazing and friendly and the breakfast was good.

The location is not necessarily the most ideal for romantic couple’s getaway. I would also love to see plant-based milk options available at the cafe. However both of these things are more of a personal preferences.
We stayed at Umedaholic hotel for three nights. The room was on the 10th floor, so the view was definitely a bonus. It was good size and had a bath in it which was great surprise. The extra amenities available at lobby was a nice touch (face masks, face cleansers, tea, toothbrush etc). The staff were polite and helpful.

The four breakfast options were a mix of Western and Japanese dishes - whilst lovely, they were ‘interesting’. We didn’t NOT like the breakfast.
Quiet location but with lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Easy walking distance from Umeda Osaka Station. Breakfast was also an option. Staff were very friendly and the hotel offered a number of ‘freebies’ for guests - face masks, toothbrushes and other toiletries, ice, snacks etc. Our room was large and we loved the wet room.

The room I had was very modern and nice, but the concept could be better. The washbasin was on the opposite site of the room to the bath, no table and no wardrobe, just a few hangers. The surrounding area seems to have a lot of love hotels ^^. Umeda station is close, but finding the right entrance can be a nightmare =).

Great location, right in the heart of Kita where all the local foods and restaurants are! Super close to the subway and station so easily accessible to get to the main shopping area (Dontonbori). Staff spoke good English and helped with luggage transfers. Decent sized rooms, clean, would recommend and stay here again.
