How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room size
The location was very good but the rooms are extremely small. Even the breakfast was monotonous. The staff was very kind. The overall experience was very good!

Nothing to complaint. It is just I imagined for budget hotels.
Great location. Few minutes walk from a train station and less than 30 minutes to either central Tokyo and Haneda airport. Price is cheaper than staying in the central area.

The bed and the pillow are just fine but not the most comfortable thing for everyone. The bed is a bit harder than I was expecting and the pillow shifts its filler when sleeping.
Healthy breakfast, good and accommodating staff. The location is really good as it is not far from the station and close to shops, malls and restaurants.

Our plane was delayed / rescheduled and we arrived after 6AM in the morning, missed the breakfast, yet we had to pay the full price. Checkout is 10AM, which was not a problem for us, but definitely shorter than what we got used to. Room is quite small, it was hard to find enough area to open a large suitcase. In comparison, the same chain in Shin-Osaka was more spacious. In Shin-Osaka, we noticed the room had a safe, which we did not see in Kawasaki. Either there wasn't one here, or we missed it. There is no room service by default, at least for stays of 3 days or less. They just hang a new set of towels in a plastic bag outside. We saw other rooms just packed their trash in front of the door for cleanup. Breakfast is Japanese (rice, fish, pickles etc.). Western options are limited to bread and butter. Juices are preserved, and limited to two options: orange and something else. Breakfast buffet uses too much disposables. We did not try the coffee or tea for the same reason.
Walking distance to the JR Kawasaki station. Convenient for a post-arrival or pre-departure stay near Haneda airport to avoid the expensive downtown Tokyo rates. We stayed for two nights to reduce hotel costs. During the day, we went for a Kamakura day trip. Another advantage is the JR Kawasaki service center is way less crowded compared to the main areas (Tokyo station, Shinjuku etc.), making it easy to pick up the JR Pass and reserve shinkansen seats. The room is clean and comfortable for a night sleep. Water pressure is decent. Bathroom caters for non-Japanese style shower as well. WiFi is really good, we have experienced worse connections in other hotels on the same trip. As everywhere in Japan, convenience stores are abundant. There is a shopping street nearby, which we did not explore. The JR station is attached to a mall, with a lot of dining and shopping options.

There was no place to put the suitcase. Breakfast was in the hotel lobby near the front door which was a bit strange. It was basic but good enough; rice with side dishes and orange juice.
Very easy and quick to get to Hanada airport from there. Less than 30 minutes door to door. Close to shops. The twin beds were a good size and comfortable.

I liked everything except I thought the room would be slightly bigger. I know Japanese hotel rooms are small in general, but the picture made it look bigger.
I loved the complimentary breakfast and location. Staff were great.

No complaints. Although being an English speaker and not an experienced business hotel resident, had a hard time figuring out wifi and heat.
The breakfast is outstanding. Would stay there again just because of breakfast and location.
