Not easy and clear access to the beach- we got lost in the huge golf field

Just be mindfull it is a quite away from the city and a huge complex.

Very confortable hotel resort - altough the building is not very appealing from the outside, it is quite huge and offers a lot of services & facilities including restaurants, Landry machines, stores, swimming pool, fitness room. Nice outdoor garden and pool. the breakast buffet was amazing. Room was really big enabling to feel confortable altough we had large suitcases. We tried the fukami restaurant wich is pricy but the beef is absolutely amazing. Very good shabu-shabu as well.

It got a bit crowded with a lot of families with children. No big problem with this, but it got very crowded in the onsen and for breakfast, removing you a bit from the relaxing lux resort feeling. Absolutely no way go get to the outdoor pool because of this. Restaurants are quite expensive as well, and even though you pay a pretty price for your stay you can’t use the gym+pool for free, and you have to pay for an airport shuttle.

It is a gorgeous hotel that really makes you feel like you are at a luxury resort.

It can’t be called a 5 star hotel in reality, not from a European or American perspective. The whole hotel is dated and need of complete refurbishment or demolition. The hotel roof leaked so much there were towels with pot plants on the across the whole site. The outdoor swimming pool was empty of water. The gym and indoor swimming pool can only be used if you pay extra as they are part of the adjacent leisure club. There are no other facilities on site. The reception staff have limited English language skills which I have no problem with but you’d expect proficient English skills to be a requirement for staff at 5 star.

Staff were friendly and there were a selection of restaurants on site.

What we encountered which we did not like and have since communicated this to the hotel WHILE we were staying there: - We had to PAY for onsen clothes or Yutaka. Have never encountered a hotel in Japan where we had to pay for onsen clothes. - Onsen is incredibly far from the main building. We had to walk a long distance to the onsen. - Shower water is hotter then the onsen water. What is this? - There is no warning sign that the lake next to the outdoor onsen cannot be entered. One China lady wanted to dip herself into the lake. She also said that there should be a warning sign. - We got the local bus 18 from Miyazaki station to the hotel. Google told us that and also the tourist information centre confirmed this. When we wanted to take a local bus out from the hotel to Miyazaki, the staff looked extremely shocked that we managed to take a local bus to the hotel. They told us the bus operates on weekends only and today is a weekday. I said that we arrived on the local bus and they looked shocked again. How can they not know the latest information? They looked so embarrassed with the misinformation they provided us. - We called to enquire about items on the phone and we could hear them talking in the background. And they had to ask at the end of the conversation, where are we from? Weird. - The convenience store sells very limited items at marked up prices. - Stained and dirty sofa in our family suite! We paid good money for this? - The carpet is filthy! Can see stains and dirt when we check in. - There are oily food stains on the wall. You can refer to my picture for reference. - One of the usb ports at the bedside table is not working. - one of the lights is spoilt - 99% of the staff cannot speak English, especially the front desk! How can this be for a hotel with a well-known brand name like Sheraton?

Nothing actually, we had high hopes staying here given the past good review and the exclusive price. Plus, communication was good after booking where I had queries about transport getting to the hotel - communication was fast and good.

The pool was closed until July 15th, when the Japanese holidays began due to staffing issues. This was not advised to us before our stay. I would not have selected this hotel had I known that. Compensation was one swim in indoor pool (!) and two daily breakfasts. Check before you book!

Locations is not great, beach is far, and more importantly swimming pool was closed due to Olympic team presence. This was not mentioned in property description. Regarding COVID the hotel on their website says they do a lot but in reality you end up sharing elevator with Olympic teams freshly arrived from abroad… at least it could have been mentioned in the COVID section. Overall hotel is old and not great looking, room’s bathroom was really in bad condition. Very expensive for what you get. I ask for a discount because of swimming pool but it was declined. Avoid staying there if you can, there are surely better alternatives around.
