It was very affordable, easy to locate (close to train stations), the staff was all excellent. The breakfast was wonderful. The dinner food and drink options were great.

I didn't like the room having a raised bed with seating underneath as it felt a bit claustrophobic. Would have preferred a normal bed.

The only thing is that the rooms lack lighting. This is easily fixed, and is quitw impractical when you have a small-ish room and need to repack your stuff

some of us have problems climbing up the stairs to our room as well as the bed inside the room. Will be good to have a TV in our room.

The staffs are very helpful & nice to their guests. They help us carry our luggages up to our rooms & also after checkout. Thanks to one who even go all way out to help me solve my lock problem. We like the breakfast which are really good. The products provided in our rooms are of quality kind.

Some minor teething issues only. A little bit more dusting might be needed. The locker room and stairwell up to the dorms is in full view of the restaurant which is a bit odd. The shower rooms should have hooks and some benches in the locker room for changing would be useful.

I was extremely impressed by this hostel, and it is definitely one of the best I have ever stayed in. The little snug "bunks" are more like mini rooms with their own window, AC unit and the bed/pillow was very comfortable. The breakfast was effective and simple.

Great place to stay after a long trip around Hokene region. Friendly people and great location. The breakfast was fenomenal! We booked a normal room, but we were upgraded to a room with a private bathroom, which was a great bonus!

It's literally impossible to pick anything wrong with this place- the only thing is the staff told us to leave out our dirty towels, and a new one would be swapped out for us, but each day we left the towels out and no new one was provided, so we had to ask staff. That was a tiny bit inconvenient, but getting a fresh clean towel + a long towel for use at the local onsens at no extra cost was such a nice touch!

RoHen Hakone is absolutely beautiful! It feels like a luxury hotel, with stylish modern-traditional fusion decor and a very clean cozy vibe. The breakfast buffet in the morning was so delicious and at no extra cost! The staff were so helpful and friendly, thank you for all your hard work :-) It's close to a bus stop, with good sound-proofing, clean showers and bathrooms, comfortable common room areas and beds, helpful staff and great food! Was defintiely my favourite place I stayed in Japan! The area around is so beautiful as well with a river, onsens and maple trees! Just lovely, highly reccommend.

We were a couple in a private room. The hotel was beautiful, the design is really stunning. Everything felt really fresh and clean. Sheets and pyjamas smelt amazing! Location was good - at the very top of the street from the station but still only a 5-10 minute walk. Staff were really sweet. Such good value.

Lighting in the room we stayed in was poor. Needed to use flashlights to see our things.

One of the best places we have stayed in Japan. Great breakfast that was heathly with good portions of food. The hotel itself feels very zen with lots of plants, a tree in the main space, and candles burning throught the area. Quieter places to sit upstairs and outside. Staff were very friendly and shared washroom facilities were extremely clean.

Staff were very accommodating and helpful, the openness of the common areas provided a comfortable space to relax, and the beautiful wooden interior created a cozy ambience. The facilities were modern and clean, and the included breakfast was a great way to start each day. Also very conveniently located - less than a 10 minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto station.

I stayed in one of the dorm rooms and everything was clean and comfy. The establishment even provides you with PJs and the breakfast in the morning is really nice and healthy. Soap for showering is also provided. It was a very comfortable stay and I would stay here again! Walking distance to the train stop.

The room was slightly difficult to navigate with low ceiling and stairs - particularly for a tall person.

The staff were great and facility was very homely and relaxing. I could feel the Japanese elements whilst having a very modern built and touch to the place, which made it quite unique and comfortable to stay at. It’s location is great as well - a 10min walk from the station but you get to see nice shops and cross a beautiful bridge on the way. It’s tucked away from the main street, so you get the quietness as well.
