Stairs were slightly steep and toilet downstairs which might not suit everyone. One room is off the kitchen area which might be a little disrupting.

Not really a complaint, but worth noting that it's quite a workout to reach the accommodation given the steep mountainous area. To use the onsen, you have to book it in advance, which can be difficult to plan if you want to see the area without stressing about the time. Would've been nice if there was a shower available for when you arrive late and just need to wash off the sweat from climbing the mountain ;)

Absolutely stunning view. Great location. The accommodation also has an onsen you can use for a small fee. The onsen also has a stunning view. Close to a train station.

The location was kinda far from the station. 14 minutes walk plus a long stair to climb up. The bus won't come regularly, so be prepared to walk to the location.

The owner provided free water, tea and ice cream. Very good value given $150 yen for onsen. The place was also very clean and spacy.

As other reviews have said, it’s a long walk up, but it’s a short taxi ride from Atami Station and easy to get down to Kinomiya Shrine! Towels and pajamas are an extra charge, but the place is already so reasonably priced.

I had a wonderful time!! The inn was spacious and clean with a beautiful view (especially on such a clear sunny day). It’s a no-frills quiet place and very easy to relax in. The owner is outstandingly friendly and accommodating - the baths are private (also a plus) and you have to reserve the time slots. I got in really late and found he’d reserved the last time slot for me. It was just super pleasant, I’m really happy I stayed here!

The hotel is in top of the hill. So, it is hard to get there by walk. Of course there are bus or taxi so it is not so much a matter.

The staff at there was perfect. He was super friendly and he took us to the store by his car at night. The room was also clean and had wonderful stay. It was perfect hotel.

If i had to pick a bad thing (which is hard given how good this place is) We stayed on the ground floor room just behind the reception and next to the bathing areas, which can be a bit noisy

When we arrived (which was late due to traffic) we were greeted by the enthusiasm of the host, he helped us with parking and was very excited to show us the place. We felt very welcome. There are private bathrooms which you can book to bath with your friends/family, one of the best thing about this little gem in Atami:) I was surprised by the cleanliness and the comfort level here. it’s a newly refurbished building, it has three floors with a spacious living room/common room on the second floor which is shared by all the customers here. The room comes with a standard toilet and a shower and quite spacious overall. The tatami bed is comfy. Other reviews complained about the location, but because we drive we think it is an amazing spot! It’s 3 min drive from the famous shrine, and 5 minute to the ginza where there is lots of restaurants and shops. You can also see the fireworks display in the living room if you come on the right times:) We didn’t get the youthful and energetic host’s name, but thank you so much we had a great time staying!!

The host is so warm and friendly. The room is larger than most Japanese hotels. Our room, the bathroom, and the living room all have a good view. The bus stop is only 2 min walk from the entrance, so it's convenient to go from Atami station.

The host was absolutely incredible! She was so kind and had a private onsen ready for us upon our arrival! The room was spacious and overlooked atami, it was so beautiful! The bathroom was clean and tidy, and we met some lovely people in the reception and living space! We were only there for one night, but wish we had stayed more! Already planning a time to come back🌸

The only thing that was a little uncomfortable was that the manager wasn’t there when we arrived and wanted to store our luggage. After waiting half an hour though, he came down and helped us immediately with everything. (He was probably busy doing something else and did not hear us)

The building manager was really nice, helping us with everything even though communication was a little difficult sometimes. We had nu issues with anything and could even go into our room before check-in since it was already ready for us and we wanted to store our luggage. The view was beautiful and we received a big room which was very clean and which had a small balcony with a nice view.

It is situated at the top of the hill with very narrow streets along the route. But then you are rewarded with great view and great place to stay.

Limited access times to the bath/shower rooms were inconvenient and frustrating, as both rooms served for bathing and showering, requiring advance booking. Additionally, if you have a relatively large car, such as our Toyota Noah, parking may be a bit of a hassle.

Incredible, has to one of the best places I have ever stayed anywhere. The views were insane. The fact that you could use the onsen for free! The staff were super nice. The room was way bigger than expected. The views were the highlight, had to mention it twice.

The location was not that convenient but the owner's hospitality helped to overcome that. Do note too that towels are not provided (it's also been stated in the description).

Grateful for the warm reception and hospitality of the owner who went out of her way to fetch us to the guesthouse as well as to Atami station after we had checked out. She also gave us advice on our travel plans and took such good care of us. Also loved that we could catch the lovely sunrise view from our room.
