Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeRoom was quite tiny. Weren’t enough clothing wall hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes, bath towels.
The design of the hotel and the rooms was beautiful, modern and thoughtful. Location was super convenient. Not noisy. Hotel itself was designed really nicely. The cafe area was beautiful as well. Staff were friendly and attentive

SwitzerlandIn the bathroom there is nothing to hang towels. Only a basket where they are placed. This could be easily solved by adding some hooks. In the room there was a kettle but no tea /coffee and no mug/cup. I found it very strange especially at this price level (I found the hotel pricey but I think it is aligned with Kamakura). Even if they sell tea and coffee downstairs, why not placing tea bags and paper glasses next to the free amenities by the reception?
Excellent location, modern yet cozy hotel with green around. Personnel is friendly, professional and speaks very good English. I liked the room I had and immediately felt well in it. The room was in fact cute and had a nice view. Breakfast was fine. I chose the soup and it was very good quality. Very good the idea of the free welcome drink.

PhilippinesNothing much to take note of.
My senior group very much liked how relaxing, quaint, and still comfortable the hotel was. They especially appreciated the fact that the hotel's location is just right where the tourist spots are, or at least a short walk away. It's very near Kamakura Station, but not crowded enough to be noisy during the day or at night.

Hong KongThe hostel was amazing. Love the spacious bathroom and the room itself is perfect for one person. The hostel's location is convenient and safe for a solo female traveller. I also got breakfast there which was also delightful. There were three to four options to choose from and they were all delicious and very filling for the start of the day.

CanadaThe breakfast choice was terrible. Only curry or minestrone soup and salad. You are only allowed one drink with no refills. After the second day of curry we found an excellent bakery around the corner and asked to cancel breakfast for the third day. We were told that we could not have a refund. When we asked if we could have an extra coffee instead of breakfast we were initially refused. When we complained we were allowed a juice. We arrived 12 minutes early and were told that we could not check in until 3pm.
The hotel was fine but was spoilt by the rigid imposition of rules and the extremely limited breakfast menu.

SwitzerlandIn general Kamakura is quite expensive. Breakfast was 2000Y (but was very good). As comparison, breakfast in Tokyo was more around 1000Y.
Breakfast was really good. We could get proper darkness thanks to the wooden blinds, which was not the case at our other places of stay.
