Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe restaurant was crazy expensive and the food wasn’t that good. It’s at least a 30 minute walk to any other restaurant in Kabira. Fine if you’ve rented a car but we had not so it was lots of walking.
Really spacious rooms, the beach was beautiful

JapanAlthough the beach in front of the hotel was beautiful, it has many rocks and I ended up hurting my foot. Besides the dishes mentioned before, most dishes were ok, with a few not very good. The beef sushi was dry. Moreover, even though we got a pamphlet saying that there was a barbecue option available for dinner every day, when we tried to make a reservation the staff told us it was unavailable. The bathtub had a few small chips and the corner of the bathtub with the floor was a little dirty.
The staff was really friendly and you could some great activities such as diving, snorkeling, SUP, etc. The view from the room was right to the sea and it was beautiful. The breakfast was good, with a variety of local food. The dinner buffet had the local ice cream brand and also sashimi, which were good. The dishes with chunks of pork, and the ones with cheese were good.

AustraliaIt's not that I didn't like it, something to keep in mind. The hotel is a little old, but I felt that added to the charm.
The location was fantastic!! Away from everything and on a stunning beach. Staff were so helpful, breakfast and dinner buffets were also delicious. Would definitely come back.

JapanWe stayed in one of the villas. It was so peaceful, and the gardens surrounding the villa were lovely. We enjoyed the outside spa tub - it was very private. The room was spacecous and had good air conditioning. The location was ideal (with a rental car) as we could access much of the island easily. We did the diving tour from the hotel which was convienient. The breakfast and dinners were great, although the dinner was quite pricey.

United KingdomNot many choices for food nearby as most restaurants in town were closed by 5pm. My main criticism would be the dive school which I found to have some really poor practices. Taking novice divers out with no real experience and letting them climb, rest, stand and hold on to all of the coral was very disappointing. It is not Disneyland and they should be doing more to protect and educate the people they are taking out!!!
Friendly staff, really nice beach and facilities were good.

SwitzerlandAs there is not much eating possibilities around, we tried once the buffet for diner. It was quite expensive for the food quality and does not meet Japanese standards as we usually find in any izakaya downtown. Be aware of the noisy crows early in the morning! A bit overpriced. A car is highly recommended.
We booked a villa which was really great, spacious and comfortable. The surrounding, garden is really nice.

United KingdomLocation wasn’t ideal in terms of getting to restaurants for dinner etc and the hotel food wasn’t great (poor selection and quality for dinner). No bar facilities or beach drinks or snacks services so you had to buy things from the hotel shop in more of a hostel style. Decor was quite dated but there is a certain charm to it in a run down White Lotus style.
Beautiful setting and beach, very friendly and helpful staff, opportunities for water sports and snorkelling excursions, on the bus route (but not many buses a day)

Hong KongBeautiful location with gorgeous views of the sea and sunsets. Staff were super helpful. Very nice breakfast with plenty of options. We booked partly because a previous review had said good for vegetarians - whilst the buffet did not have any vegetarian options, when we asked the chef made us fresh vegetarian food for dinner. Included a salad, soup, main course, and dessert.

United Statesfor the price, it can’t be beat. breakfast was WAY better than the ANA Intercontinental Ishigaki. it’s def an older property, no real frills, but great view out the window. I would not stay here if you don’t have a car. It is far from everything and not much is around in terms of off site restaurants and such.

Italythe rooms are not clean enough, bedsheets and towels … furthermore there were ants everywhere, even if our room was on the second floor
being just on the beach, makes this hotel a good choice when you want to be far away from the city and relax with the sea and connect with nature.

JapanI got an allergic reaction, skin rash and itchiness the next day after they cleaned up the room on the third day. Whether it’s from the pyjamas or the sento might be dirty. I went to the doctor as soon as I arrived in Tokyo, and the diagnosis was an insect bite. Bed bug?
The room is big w comfortable sofa. The sea view was nice, but we were not lucky w the weather Dec 23-26. whole four days were cloudy. no sun at all. only one day on 24th but it’s like five minutes only. location wise no issue, since I drive whole trip and Ishigaki is close even to the downtown. and it’s very close to the stargazing spots up hill close to the competitor’s loc. english speaking staff, huge parking lot. 👌🏽

CanadaThe sea view room was great, very spacious for Japan, and very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffet had lots of options and lots of delicious food. The staff was very accommodating with my wife who is vegetarian, making her individualized pastas both nights. They also helped us organize snorkelling tours and dropped us off at a restaurant down the street on the day we checked out.

JapanEverything was great! Only issue is, I’d recommend renting a car, especially if you plan on buying tour packages, since it’s a little bit far from the main city. there is no atm close by other than the post office (taxi is available but expect to pay 3500-4500 yen to get where you need to go).
beach was great! lots of good activities available. Staff was amazing! Especially Erina, Yui, and Chikara. Super helpful and cool staff.

JapanCoffee. Would appreciate some one cup drip coffee in the room, Was able to buy teabag coffee in the shop in the lobby, but had no milk, creamer or sugar. The coffee in the buffet was not so great either. But other than the coffee, I was very pleased with everything about the hotel.
Very good value for the money. Excellent location on a beach, within view of a key snorkling/diving location. Room was clean and comfortable, and big enough to fit four beds in - with a nice ocean view. Very near Kabira Bay. The breakfast was abundant and varied, with western and Okinawa options, fresh fruits, bacon, eggs and a chocolate fountain. A great value. Comfortable swimming pool to soak in after a day at the beach.
