The staff are helpful and courteous. The public areas of the hotel are very nice and spacious. The rooms are large and comfortable but a little bit plain and sparse. The entrance to the hotel was impressive and grand, but upon entering the rooms, I couldn't help but notice that they were quite dated and in need of a renovation. The furnishings and decor seemed old-fashioned and worn out, which detracted from the overall experience of staying at the hotel.

The moment I stepped into the hotel, I was in awe of the grandeur of its entrance. The intricately designed architecture, the elegant furnishings, and the warm lighting all contributed to an unforgettable first impression. I was also thrilled to find out that the location of the hotel was just a short walk away from the station. It was incredibly convenient and made my stay in the city much more enjoyable.

The attitude of the English speaking staff - too casual and rough. They should learn basic responses in hospitality. When I politely inquired over the phone if they can speak English, I got a one word response: Yeah. The bathroom has a strange smell and lacks basic amenities typical in Japanese hotels.

Our room was lovely and large enough for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) to stay comfortably. We were there for a wedding and we found everything to be fantastic! The breakfast buffet is amazing! All staff were very helpful, friendly and accomodating.

After the initial issue was resolved, there wasn't really anything else to mention.

The staff were very welcoming and it was easy to check in. The hotel was pretty easy to find - even without initially noticing the giant billboard across from the JR station. The room we were initially shown was way too hot to sleep (it started at 25 degrees celsius and while we went out for dinner it increased to 28 degrees). When I called the front, someone immediately came to check our room and once he couldn't provide an external solution, he moved us to another room. He even took our bags while we were moving to the new room.

I was not made aware upfront that we are required to make payments for the Onsen of JPY150 each occupant per night stay😕 During my checkin, I informed payment had been fully made via booking.com, hence did not expect additional charges upon check out. This came to me as a huge surprise, as I have checked with my friends living in nearby hotel (Tokyu Stay, L’agent etc), they did not get such charges at checkout. Was told by front desk that it is chargeable by all hotel, which is make it hard for me to accept it.

Overall, the service is good, location is great, it’s near the market, the pier and the mountain top! I will recommend this hotel for a short stay in Hakodate
