How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Soundproofing - sound travelled quite a lot in the corridor outside my room so I could hear a lot of noise from other guests, especially families with small children. The window was blocked so I didn't get any sort of view from my room of the city. The bed was a bit firm but fine for me. These things weren't too much of an issue however as I was out most of the day sightseeing!
It was perfectly located, no more than a 5-min walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The room was a single room with a good range of facilities including a mini fridge, air-conditioning, large wardrobe space, hairdryer and a nicely-sized ensuite. The breakfast included was superb with a good selection of various breads, pastries, cold meats, coffee etc. The staff were very friendly, especially the man at the front desk and the woman serving breakfast/coffees.

Door locks could be improved. Grout could be improved.

It was a bit noisy but then it depends who sleeps in the room next to you
The location! 1 min from Piazza dei Miracoli (Pisa Tower) The room was big and clean. The super helpful and friendly staff.

The staffs are not professional and did not provide good service. The coffee in breakfast was very bad. Hot food was not good.

Area is safe but scruffy and has limited bars/cafes/restaurants.

Last time I had view of the tower. Now the room was bigger, but no view of the tower.
The hotel is well located and the staff is friendly. The breakfast was OK.

It has a perfect location, is close to the Pissa tower, and takes 5 mins to walk. Quiet during the night to have a good sleep, (just sometimes a little noise of elevator motor). Breakfast was not special but ok by this price.

A noisy location but any hotel as close to the main sights is likely to be noise. The bed was a bit hard for me.

The terrace/garden was not open
It was in an excellent location, a short bus ride from the station and right opposite the Piazza deli Miracoli. There are shops, stalls and eating places nearby, and other restaurants a short walk away. The staff at the desk were very helpful. The breakfast was a normal continental breakfast, though not much fruit. Our room was at the back and fairly quiet

Unfortunately my bed was very uncomfortable. Very basic room, but very reasonable price paid. Traffic quite noisy.
Very good location, mins from leaning tower, which could be seen from my window . Breakfast was sufficient, all cold, but good choice. Lovely coffee, only allowed 1 free. I would use this hotel again.

The bed was ok, could have been firmer.
The complimentary breakfast was sweet, although I did not find anything I wanted to eat. I did enjoy the orange juice 🥤 and the staff help lending me a wall converter for the night. The location was perfectly within walking distance to the beautiful Pisa and I enjoyed all wonder in visit the historic landmark.

Nothing really, maybe view from my window was not so great
The staff was very friendly, good breakfast - there was eggs, ham, cheese, different flakes with milk/yogurt, apples. I had a fridge I'm my room as well, the hotel has its value for money. From the Airport there is a taxi station in front of exit which cost 15 EUR to get to the hotel

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Roma.
It was exceptional close to the Tower of Pisa and we loved that we could walk past the Tower every time we left the hotel!
