Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI know this is already noted when booking that there is no elevator but the stairs are a tough climb. But in fairness i only had to climb them twice a day as we were out all day.
Its is a great location, clean and tidy and perfect for a city break.

United KingdomThe stairs! Slightly challenging when having two large cases, but this was relayed clearly by the owner prior, so no fault of theirs. Other than that, perfect!
A very cosy, comfortable and romantic accommodation with all necessary amenities. In a perfect location. Would definitely reccomend!

BrazilThere is a real problem with this property: it is on the fourth (but really the fifth) floor, has no lift, and it is always a long way to go in, especially on a summer day... It is not suitable for handicapped people. Another problem is the absence of a microwave oven. Using the traditional gas oven in a day in summer can be very unpleasable. The wi-fi was very bad.
The location was superb, 15 minutes walk from the most distant interest point of Rome. Very central. The apartment has almost all the facilities needed for a long stay, even a washing machine. The host was very, very patient and helpful.

United StatesThe bathroom was not clean to my liking. The covers on the furniture on the patio were dirty so we didn’t use the patio. We were aware that there are 4 flights of stairs to get to the apartment but by day 3, those got very old. Especially after a long day of walking around and dragging luggage down and up when we arrived and when we left. If you want a great location and don’t mind the stairs, I would recommend it.
The location is right around the corner from the Pantheon. It is very centrally located to walk to everything in Rome. We felt like it was a very safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants, cafes, and markets if you want to get some groceries while you were there. The apartment is very small but it’s fine for two people. But I wouldn’t recommend more than that. I’m 5’10 and the loft upstairs would definitely not be feasible for me. The balcony is tiny so we didn’t use it. The apartment is very quiet for such such a central location.

CanadaThe balcony was not usable due to the massive amounts of hot air being blown onto it by an air conditioner. Not the outdoor space we were hoping for.
The location right near the Pantheon was great and it was also central to most other tourist sites. The apartment had everything we needed and checkin was quick.

Saudi ArabiaThe room was on the 4th floor, the stairs were narrow, and there was no elevator, maybe it is the same in all Rome as we have heard. The bathroom shower door doesn't close fully. Also, the sprinkler is not tight, needs replacement. The wifi was super slow. Would be great to have a small curtain for the upper room's small window.
I liked how convenient the location of the apartment was. I also liked how unique it was in terms of design. The beds were comfotable and the facilities were clean.

PolandBathroom shower door need adjustment, but water was not spilling to bathroom so it ws not a major issue. And it is 4th floor with no lift - no problem, we expected it from description, but for older people or more luggage i can create a problem.
Basic equipment was there, like toilet paper or dish washing fluid so we did not have to buy anything for accomodation, also there was some coffee and tea, so very nice.

NetherlandsThe airco was not working perfect. It was just enough for the area by the bed. The bed upstairs was useless because there was no airco. We visited in July, so it was very hot. consequences, one person had to sleep on the floor. Door of the refrigerator was not closing properly, but when we placed a stool against the door it kept closed. The door of the shower cabin was not closing properly and there were small molt stains in the shower.
The location was more than perfect. Lovely kitchen and balcony.

BrazilIt is known and clear explained on the reservation, but 4 floors using stairs is a lot of thing to do everyday. The loft is on the 4th floor, but we have to face 5 floors of stairs. The worst thing to me was not the stairs. We have booked the loft for 3, but the second bad is located on a very small place. Next to the roof and it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep there even at the night (at least during the summer). There is only one air conditioner (and it should be ok), but it is located on a hide place, so it is not enought to refresh the hole place. In another words, if your reservation is only for 2, you will be ok. Another quick comment regarding the shower. Good water and hot, but a very small space to take shower (the toilet is good and clean, my comments is regardng ONLY the space to take shower.)
The localization is perfect. Near to everything. You can do the most important places to visit in Rome by walking (15 - 30 minutes). Around the loft there are many place to have dinner, breakfeast, drinks, ice cream...Anything you want. The loft was very clean

IcelandThe apartment is smaller than you might think and the balcony is very small. The upper level was unusable due to heat, the AC didnt reach up there. You have to walk up quite many steps as the apartment is on the very top level. One annoying thing was that the fridge kept opening so its not really fit for purpose.
The location was great! Right next to the Pantheon, quite comfortable and clean. We were able to check in upon arrival which was great. The air conditioning was great. And despite its very central location the apartment is very quiet. The light in the bathroom was a fun feature.

FranceThe apartment is pretty small even for 2 people; it's impossible to sleep on the "first" floor because of the heat. There's no power socket near to the bed. Remote control of the TV was not working so existence of the smart TV was kind of useless. The bathroom is tiny and need some repairs. Suggestion: If you are traveling with your partner, not for a long time and the decorations like "Cupid just throw up" attracts you : this option could be a good choice. Remember that if you cannot sleep without your phone, you hate the stairs, small beds, ants in the bathroom - skip this option.
The location is perfect! Right next to the pantheon. The guy who met us was nice.

Poland- it was very dirty and it seems that no-one takes care of this place, dirty bathroom, kitchen, floor, disgustingly dirty douche, - the place is old and definately needs some renovations, walls are dirty, mold in the bathroom, - there was not even decent soup in the bathroom, it was mixed with water, so please make sure you take all cosmetics with you becouse you cannot count on even basic ones to find there, - there were ants in the bathroom! We had to take the garbage bin out to the balcony becouse they were all over in the garbage bin, on the walls and in the douche! - the host is not really friendly, just gave us the keys without a single smile, didn't give any recommendations of places to eat near by even though we asked for it.
-The location of the apartment is exceptional, just near the Parthenon, restaurants and bars, walking distance from most of places you want to visit during your stay in Rome, - the apartment had all needed facilities such as mokka or even iron (however quite old), - nice balcony (but seems smaller then in fotos), - very quiet even though it is just in the city centre.
