Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe room was quite small for two people. Bit too much noise from the street/bar.
Location is close to the main railway station (direct train from Malpensa Airport). Safe room behind the four locks (you need to pass four locked doors to get to the room). Clean but modest room. Good beds and a shower. Windows to the inner yard. The room had everything we needed for a three night stay. Breakfast was okay and we were pleased to have an early breakfast in the last morning. Pasquele is a great host like the whole family. The family run little hotel where you feel yourself welcomed. I could return since the price was reasonable compared to expensive hotels in Milano.

CanadaNot too modern faculty No safe Not to the standard of a hotel room. Our room was secure as it required four keys to access our room from the street, the courtyard, the hallway and finally the room.
Location and Pasquale and his wife made every effort to make our stay enjoyable The breakfast was very complete from coffees juices fruits yogurt croissant grilled cheese sandwiches. What we could not eat he wrapped it up to go.

CanadaBeds were small singles. Directions were not great from train station, we had to ask a few people. Breakfast was fine, too much food. Very noisy outside as we needed window open with heat, construction and restaurants very noisy.
Close to train station and metro. Restaurant next door was lovely for dinner.

United KingdomTowels and bedsheets could be updated but wasn’t an issue at all!
Perfect location near to the train station and only 4 metro stops to the duomo. Staff were helpful and plenty of complimentary water and coffee was provided. Nice continental breakfast - coffee, pastries, cereal, toast, bananas. Room was very clean and everything we needed for a 1 night stay and safe (4 locked doors to get to the room). Nice tall ceilings, makes the room feel bigger.

United StatesBe sure to print out the walking directions from the train station to the hotel including which exit to take. We couldn't get cell service on our phones at the station and got confused. We ended up getting an Uber only to find out if we had gone out the right exit we would have been 2 blocks away.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, not fancy. It seems like it was a house converted to a Bed and Breakfast. The door to the room didn't seem too secure but there are several outer doors with keys that you must go through first so we felt safe. The breakfast was good with croissants, toast, fruit, and cereal. The location was great if you want to tour Milan using the metro system. It is only a couple of blocks from Milan Centrale. We went during design week in Milan so all the hotels nearer the Duomo were extremely expensive! We were happy to find this hotel.

LithuaniaThe room and the bathroom are very small and humble. We didn't manage to open the shutters, so had to turn on the lamp even during the day.
The location is great, it's just in 5 minute walk from the bus and train station, which makes it perfect for the short stays. The housekeepers are very nice, the cafe offers tasty snacks, pizza and pasta. There were tea, water and coffee offered for free in the apartment, which was also very nice.

United StatesNot that I didn’t like but just to note it is an older building and the accommodations reflected that. But for a night or two I think it’s perfect.
The property was easy to find and we had clear instruction on how to check in. We communicated via booking.com with the property manager. It was within short walking distance of the train station. Felt safe getting in to accommodation as there were three locked doors to get through before our room door. We didn’t get to enjoy the complimentary breakfast as it was just an overnight but there was a mini fridge available with water bottles to take if we needed which was a great plus.

GermanySadly our room only had one outlet, which was located in the bathroom. Additionally, the bathroom sometimes had an unpleasant odor.
The hotel is managed by a lovely older couple. They provided a breakfast that offeres a wide range of options and free bottled water. It's only a quick four minute walk from the hotel to Milano Centrale.

LebanonNot your typical hotel experience. It's a family owned building with 3 rooms on the same floor. You get a bunch of keys for 4 doors to get inside. Not enough towels provided, and if u dont put them on the floor they dont change them. There is a smell in the shower. Breakfast is provided in the coffee shop downstairs, it was a bit slow because the owner works alone. Specific items served not a buffet to choose from. You hear the noise of other rooms
1- location close to central station 2- the mini fridge with the water, coffee and tea available for free (included in the fees paid) 3- friendly owner even if he doesn't speak english 4- the room and the bathroom were spacious
