Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThe accommodation was literally perfect! The room equipped very well, you can find all you need and even more (some snacks are also prepared for you). As for me, the location is the best, as it’s not that overcrowded outside and still very close to the main attractions and it’s a pleasure to take a walk there. The area is safe and there are a lot of cafes/restaurants nearby. The personal is super professional, friendly and nice! Highly recommend this accommodation for your stay!

The location allows you to experience how locals live, it's a beautiful house just a 20 min walk from Vatican, the metro is 5 min walk, bus stop is 1 min walk. The interior was modern and the apartment is well lit, great view. The host was replying fast and very kindly.

United StatesThe hot water could have been hotter and the keyless entry could be more seemless to use, but it worked. The roll up outer window shade did not work on one side, but not a big problem. What I didn't like was insignificant compared to what I liked. I would come here again.
I liked the fact that it was in the same neighborhood that I always stay on when in Rome. It was clean, modern and had an elevator! Jason was an amazing resource and helped me when I needed it.

HungaryIn the bathroom the little shelf for the soap and toothbrushes needs to be fixed - at least in the room we stayed in, and it is not a big problem.
Super clean, neat style but very comfortable. Many people had concerns about the bed, yes the mattress is not fixed to the frame so you'd better sit on instead of jump into the bed, but! The sheet has good smell (not tipical antiseptic) and the mattress itself was very comfy.

NetherlandsVery good location, walking distance away to Vatican City. Clean and neat room. The opening of the building door, apartment door and room door was easy with the webapp. When I visited Rome it was one of the hottest days and the air conditioner in the apartment and the room was very well appreciated!

PolandThe only drawback was the necessity of using the Vikey system to open the building, the apartament and the room door. Truth be told, we didn't have any issues with this, but we felt dependent from our phones (there were physical keys in the room, but only to the building and the room, not the apartament). Also, before the arrival we had to provide Vikey with personal data and IDs photos.
Very clean and cozy apartament with all you need - comfortable bed, clean and very nice bathroom, big wardrobe and a table to eat breakfast or drink coffee in the morning (there was also a coffee machine and a kettle). The apartament was spacious and really nicely decorated. The staff cleaned every day which was very nice. The apartament itself was in a good location with a lot of nearby cafes and restaurants, plus bus stop very close. Also, it only took 10 minutes to reach metro station Lepanto or 20 minutes walk to reach Vatican. .

Germanynothing really - as of feb 2023 the metro doesn't run after 9pm to the local station (there is a replacement bus service). Having said that, in a pinch you could walk from the city centre in 45 mins if you get caught out, without the need to endure rome's taxis ;)
Location is great - in a quiet part of rome which is relatively tourist free. still only 20 mins walk from the vatican (if that's your thing) and 20 mins to the stadio olympico. 10 mins to the metro for easy access to the city (5 stops to termini). nice bars restaurants within walking distance (2 on the same block) . 2 supermarkets within walking distance and a nice cafe. Apartment itself is very nice - i was alone but it would be fine for a couple too. excellent wifi - third floor with an elevator. use a system called vikey so you never see the host - all done online so you dont have a key to worry about. clean and bright - good window insulation so i didnt notice any outside noise. would totally recommend unless you absolutely have to stay right downtown

United StatesThere were two things we didn't like. Firstly, the key-less entry was pain. We figured out how to open the first door to the building (portone), but the entry to the apartment never worked. After calling all of the available phone numbers listed on the property, we stood on the stairway for about 45 minutes until someone got back to us with how to open the door using the key pad (instead of the key-less online entry). This was much easier!! The second thing we did not: there were some flying bugs (but definitely not mosquitos!) inside the entryway; they seemed harmless and stayed outside out room, but they are a bit unsightly.
My partner and I used to live in this neighborhood, so this place felt like home. It is close to some nice bars, a taxi stand, several grocery stores and a very nice pharmacy. More importantly, it is well connected: the 280 bus to Trastevere, the 30 express bus, which cuts straight to the center, and the metro stop, Lepanto, is an easy walking distance from this place. The room itself was air conditioned, clean, and the movable window shades made it a perfect environment, day or night. Lastly, there were some wrapped breakfast items that were left out on the desk for us to eat. This was very handy and extremely helpful when you just want something quick to eat before heading out for the day. Thank you.

The owner was amazing gave us snacks even though we didn't pay the extra fee for breakfast! Very helpful and reliable when it came to any questions about our stay! Really nice and clean room. Towels and linens are pure white. The room is small, but everything is on place: fridge, kettle, hairdryer, tv and air-conditioning. Bus stop is close, easy to access anything by public transport.
