Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe staff were nice but the property policy isn’t much customer friendly: we only had one towel per person and one dish towel for 5 days. We’dneed to pay if we wanted more, even when asked they didn’t showed any tolerance.
Good location, quietness and space.

SwitzerlandThe communication over Booking was excessive. The notorious 8. district is a scary place, which is actually not their fault and I was expecting it, but it can be a big dissapointment for first time visitors. I had no problems though. The flats are part of a big money making machine, don‘t expect anything more, than what you pay for. It‘s not necessarily bad, but not possitive either.
It was quiet, pretty clean and well equipped.

Germanynothing really just the dirty streets but that is not a big deal. The receptionist was very insensitive. We had complained that the heater was off and our room was quite cold. She said she could not give us an extra duvet, she said said we should go buy a duvet. To think this was a 3 nights stay and she’s suggesting we go buy a duvet is really not ok.
very clean apartment,it just makes one feel at home.Easy transport connection within a short distance from the apartment.

RomaniaThe apartment we received had 3 small bedrooms. One of them was so small that we couldn’t bring 2 chairs next to the beds, to put our baggage on them (of course, it had no wardrobe inside). Also, few nightstands would be very helpful. There were no cleaning services during our 3 days stay (although I remember the cleaning service was included in the price we paid for the apartment). We took the garbage outside ourselves and bought bags to replace the previous ones (quite challenging, as we didn’t know where to leave the garbage 😅). One of the bathrooms had a very bad smell. The ventilation column did not work properly. Few improvements on the apartment we received (515) would be excellent!
The location was excellent, near almost all tourist attractions. The staff was excellent, very nice and patient. Most of all, we appreciated that the heat was turned on, so we could use the radiators. There was a fully equipped kitchen, which was helpful for breakfast. Very good parking places (underground), for which we paid extra 30€/day/car. Although there was a block under construction near the building in which we were accommodated, we couldn’t hear any noise. Highly appreciated!

Czech RepublicIt's a district 9 which is considered to be dirty and under development. A lot of old buildings. This gives a bad vibe, although, one street towards center, it's a nice area. We happen to be while building next to us was in reconstruction.
It was clean and nicely furnished. Great protection in the morning from sunlight.

RomaniaThere was no smart TV, just regular. From our room there was no view, just a building being constructed, so it was noisey. I asked for the wifi password on the booking chat and never got an answer even thou I exchanged messages back and forth with them this way. I was informed about a "hotel policy" that we had to make a 50 euro deposit that would be returned at the end of our stay basically last minute.
Clean, good distance from everything to visit, comfortable, spacious, hot water, etc.

SerbiaEverything was quite fine.
Location was good. Not downtown but quite centrally located. Impeccably clean. Good room organization inside the apartment. Separated toilet and bathroom. Complete privacy because reception desk was situated in nearby building. Car parking was so-so. However, you can find it free of charge during the weekends. When subway is running, station is really near. The same goes for shops. There are quite a few around. And do not forget Corvin Plaza. Not a lot people around during the evening. In spite of that we felt safe all the time. Budapest is safe city generally speaking. In total, good price value. For apartment side of accomodation Mapple Tree is safe bet.

United KingdomAll was fine until the power went off on our last morning! Something in the flat tripped a fuse so in our panic we were not able to ascertain who/what to blame (we were flying out and our phones (boarding passes) had not charged). Eventually we were able to rectify the fuse which had tripped by trying various combinations of lights off/appliances unplugged. Beds aren't the comfiest but more than okay for a short stay.
The place was good value - we had 3 apartments for 18 of us. It was around a 15 minute walk to the Jewish quarter (or a very short bolt ride). Basic amenities such as bed, shower etc were all up to scratch. Access to the building is easy with the fob provided at Corbin Plaza across the road, 24 hours a day.
