Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bedframe was sharp and easy to stub your toes on. The slider door to the outdoor patio is in an awkward place as you have to step up and over the baseboard heater to get outside. (Just an interesting design.)
The host communicated with us & emailed check in information for the unit the day before our arrival. We were able to register with the host ahead of time for an after-hours arrival. This was very nice so we could go directly to the ski lift in the morning instead of having to go to the property management first. The location was awesome and across the street from the Creekside Gondola. The kitchen had all the necessary cooking utensils, pots & pans, blender, etc. to make it easy to cook our own meals. (Salt & Pepper provided, bring your own oil & other seasonings) The gas fireplace was nice although it doesn't really produce any heat, but the unit had a good heating system, and we were plenty warm. We liked being on the ground floor and the outdoor patio would be nice to use in warmer weather. It has a nice garden view and is close to the pool but was also quiet. Pool towels were provided. The underground parking is very nice, although the parking stalls are very small. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

United StatesThe unit has definitely seen some wear and tear. Very low water pressure in the upstairs shower - so low we couldn't use the shower. The living room furniture isn't super comfortable. The hot tub was drained and cleaned on Friday so it was out of service Friday evening. But worst of all is the ski storage room locked early. The sign says it will be deadbolted from 10pm to 6am. We had to leave at 5am so we went to grab our skis at 9:15pm the night before to load in our car. The storage room was already locked so we couldn't get our skis. Apparently the local management and after hours contact have no way of unlocking this - only a remote management company who can't be contacted outside of business hours. Thankfully we had friends staying there who were leaving later than us and they were able to grab our skis, otherwise I'm not sure what we would have done. Seems ridiculous (and unsafe) that management has no way of unlocking this door if needed.
Location is a very short walk to the Creekside gondola. Size of the unit was nice. Kitchen was fully functional, beds were comfortable, and there was some coffee and hot chocolate left for us upon arrival,

CanadaThe water pressure in our shower (room 313) on the second floor is way too low, needs to be fixed.
The location is perfect. The layout of the room was nice. Confortable for a group of 5-6 people.

AustraliaWe paid extra for a shuttle service to allow for the remote check in, which is so inconvenient if you don't have a car. Turns out you can skip it if you pay in advance. We had already requested to pay month's ago but the request was ignored. We'll be more persistent next time!
Perfect location, close to the gondola. #113 was lovely and comfortable, great to have a kitchen. Creekside is quiet but there's Dusty's for a drink and the grocery store had everything we needed. Whistler Village is a short bus ride up the road. We would happily stay again.

CanadaThe second bedroom is a loft so does not have full privacy. There is quite a bit of street noise in the early morning. There was no really good place to store a more expensive bike (Though there was a dedicated bike storage area)
The location is quite good, but is in Whistler Creek, not Whistler. But there is a very good market and some good restaurants in easy walking distance. The entire Whistler area has a large number of bike paths, hiking trails and of course mountain bike trails. It was good to have two separate sleeping areas and two bathrooms. The kitchen was good with all basic utensils and appliances available.

CanadaCheck-in is in Whistler Village, while the unit is in Creekside. So if you are coming from the coast/Vancouver, it is additional driving. Kitchen was well appointed, except for no colander.
Although the unit is a little dated, it was well appointed and quite comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Few Whistler condos are air-conditioned, and Lake Placid Lodge is no exception, but there was a fan to cool the place down in summer and draw evening air from outside. The pool was fine and we could have used the BBQ out on the pool deck area. We prefer Creekside over central Whislter. We found the Lake Placid Lodge to be a good alternative to higher priced units. the underground parking was easy to access (though it would be tight parking when full).

United KingdomThe check-in place was several miles from the apartment in Whistler Village, which was a hassle when coming by bus, and not made clear on booking There was nobody on site, which is fine most if the time. But, for example, after checking out there was nowhere to leave luggage when not leaving until the evening.
Nice spacious apartment. Brilliantly located very near Creekside gondola and ski hire. So you can almost ski to your apartment - a road to cross no more. Creekside is also a bit more chilled than Whistler Village. Hot tub and pool lovely, although hot tub was not hot but I presume that was a temporary glitch that will be fixed.
