Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThere's lack of mirror in the room despite it being open and large with plenty of empty walls that large mirrors could fit. There's no windows in the room too, though understandable that it's a hotel inside a building, but having awindow overseeing the inside of airport would be nice since it wouldn't feel too closed and suffocating.
Loved that we didn't have to leave airport or pass trough immigration since it's meant for travellers in transit. Hotel wise it's new so feels very comfortable

AustraliaA small inconvenience but the shower floor was not installed with proper fall making the water round around the glass separation and flood most of the bathroom. The doors could have better sound proofing. We were disturbed by noise from other guests at one occasion. Usually not a concern but since the rooms are rented out in six/twelve hour chunks for a quick rest sound proofing is important.
Excellent staff made the check-in and check-out process brief and efficient. Room was clean ans bed was comfortable. Water pressure and temperature was good in the shower. Everything I was hoping for was present for a quick stay making our 10 hour stay a pleasant boost rather than a slog. Would definitely use again if I was stuck for an extended lay over.

AustraliaShower cubicle was not very clean with hairs on the floor. Carpet was badly stained. Sound proofing not great. We were hoping to get some sleep between flights, however there was a lot of noise from another room most of the night & banging doors which kept us awake.

AustraliaThe hallway was very noisy with staff, other guests and doors being closed. This made it difficult to get a good rest after a 14 hour flight. The reception staff offered a wake up call ahead of our next flight and we accepted, however they did not call. It's lucky I had an alarm set.
It had everything we needed for a 9 hour layover at Abu Dhabi airport - a comfortable bed to sleep, a toilet with toiletries supplied and a shower. The room was very modern. Staff members Rifayda and Luisa were very welcoming and helpful.

United StatesThe boarding pass issue delayed my checkin by 2 hour from 1am to 3am even though the front desk really tried! Also, the cost was 20%+ higher than Booking.com indicated! Good overall, but checkin was a disaster as I could have gone outside and gotten 6 hours of sleep vs. 4 hours, which I really needed!
The extra effort by the staff to help with a major issue on a boarding pass

Sri LankaI think that the price was a bit high for the room for just a 12 hour booking. There were hotel options outside of the airport where you can get a full day’s stay for much cheaper.

IndiaThe bathroom shower doesn't have a door, hence you can't take a shower without the entire bathroom getting completely wet. Quite difficult to use after that. The room also didn't have a mirror except for in the bathroom.

Australia$220AUD for just a bed, a TV that isn't connected online and no windows (and thus no fresh air) for a maximum of 12 hours was difficult to stomach - was expecting half the price.
Ideally located within Zayed International, this is perfect for those uncomfortable lay overs that don't warrant leaving the terminal. Mine was a 15hr wait, and even with lounge access, doing this without a bed to rest up in would've been a challenge.
