Everything was absolutely fantastic! The staff, food, cleanliness, and the location. I'm a hiker, and the resort backed up onto the Drakensberg Gardens National Park, so many fantastic hikes. After a long day out on the trail, I could come back to a lovely room and relax, go to the sauna, or get a massage.
Views were absolutely stunning!
And if you have children, it's a fantastic place to take them: playground, swimming, canoeing on a safe pond, horseback riding, mini golf, zipline, etc, etc.
Bonjaneni
Alpine Heath Resort has many dining options for guests including regional dishes cooked in a traditional clay oven. Meals can be enjoyed in the restaurant, on the terrace or in the privacy of guests’ rooms. There are also braai barbecue facilities available. We got an amazing last minute deal for 4 of us to stay 3 nights in a 6 sleeper chalet and it made it all the more wonderful! The views are amazing - you are right there in the mountains (we previously stayed at Amphitheatre Backpackers which is set further back) and have options to do some short hikes from the lodge which is great. We did the Tugela Falls hike from here as well (drove 1.5 hours to Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge and took the shuttle from there to Sentinel car park) which is a bit of a long day but totally worth it and not many alternatives for staying closer either anyway. The chalet was very comfortable, the kitchen was furnished with a very modern fridge & oven/stove which was nice. There was a double ensuite room upstairs and two twin rooms downstairs with a second bathroom. The windows throughout the chalet are huge so that you can truly enjoy the views. We were lucky that it was very quiet when we stayed, or perhaps it's always like that as the chalets are quite well spaced from one another, so you just get the sounds of nature rather than people and other noises. There are plenty of activities at the resort: swimming pools, tennis, squash, put-put, giant chess as well as organised games and kids activities (which we didn't do). There are restaurants & a bar (which we didn't go to) as well as a shop which I found to be quite reasonably priced. Nearby is also the All Out Adventure centre for those looking to do any more activities. The staff were all wonderful and the chalet was serviced daily. There was free WiFi which worked well.

Our unit was mountain facing with such a beautiful view. We loved that we didn’t need to leave the resort as it had so much to do on site
The resort and the views were stunning. Jorden kept us well entertained with all the activities to do during the rainy weather. We especially love the indoor pool which we made good use of. Breakfast was good.
Wow wow 👌 we enjoyed every single second of the resort. It was an amazing experience. The views were breathe taking, the staff were so wonderful and helpful and friendly, the food was sooooooo delicious. It's the perfect place to just get away from the city. I had one of the best birthdays there and I will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing time
It's a lovely family resort. We enjoyed the entertainment and activities. Room 17 had amazing views.
Great family resort, facilities are excellent
Beautiful setting with awesome views. Luxury as expected for 4 star resort. Very helpful staff . Awesome dams with big fish 🤗
An all-inclusive resort with friendly staff and lots to keep you busy. Beautiful scenery, clean facilities, decent wi-fi and the food was (surprisingly) tasty! I highly recommend a stay here; you get what you pay for.
The Cavern was amazing. We only stayed for 2 nights and in that time we basically stayed within the resort itself. Tons of hiking trails on your doorstep (we were travelling with a 5 years old so only did the short strolls but they were spot on for us), nice facilities in the resort (tennis, billiard etc.) and the scenery is of course extraordinary. And then there's the food - way above what you'd expect for a family resort. Terrific.
I felt overwhelmed with the staff's compassion and outstanding service. I enjoyed the peace the resort had to offer and the beautiful scenaries.
Excellent Family Resort!!!
