Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is just 800 metres from Lake Taupo crater lake. It has a natural thermal spa and is only 5 minutes' drive from the Taupo town centre. Free Wi-Fi is available. The pools were amazing. Staff was nice and helpful.

Situated 10 minutes' drive north of Taupo, Wairakei Resort is surrounded by landscaped gardens and unique geothermal features. It was an ultra-high-end accommodation. The accessibility to downtown and surrounding tourist attractions was good, and the garden inside the resort was great. I plan to visit again next time.
