However, that means it is a bit far from the centre and transport is recommended. The room was big and clean, and the staff was very kind and helpful. The outdoor area is great - pool area, outdoor area around the rooms, and the beach area. The beach was clean and tidy, but only in front of the hotel. If you walk past this area, the beach is not that clean, but it didn't bother us as we understand that they cannot clean the whole beach. The food and drinks are good, but it's of course a bit more pricey due to being a resort. We loved that the resort offer different activities during your stay, like morning yoga.

Guests enjoy free access to snorkelling gear, kayak and stand-up paddle board. We loved the food which had lot of various Indonesian specialties, we enjoyed drinking wine watching the sunset, and the daily trips we took with the hotel staff: Komodo dragons, snorkelling with the manta rays and turtles, visiting the neighbouring island including the fisherman village.

The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

Among the various facilities are a bar, a private beach area, as well as barbecue facilities. The accommodation offers entertainment staff and room service. It was one of the best ever holiday experiences! Great hosts, excellent food and great traveling company made this stay extraordinaire. If you are looking for a real hideaway that’s the place to go. Absolutely amazing project, the training they provide has astounding results and ultimately helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to substantially improve their socio-economic status (and that of their families). Welcoming, food and spa treatments were impeccable, among the best we received after four years in Indonesia.
