The location is good with easy access the lake (30 seconds), and to the boats that take you to the waterfals, villages to walk through and caves to explore. The staff was especially welcoming. The manager, Nam, was over and above helpful, very informative, and did everything to make the stay enjoyable and the food great (thanks to the cooks and helpers). Meals served in an open garden and comfortable covered outside lounge areas with Wifi access. Even got to meet Mr. Linh himself, a gregarious and very friendly individual. The bungalow type accommodation is great for backpackers and those on a lower budget, clean with shared bath, but basic. For a little extra I'd go for the the rooms with ensuite. They are very comfortable. If you're keen, kayaks are free to use for an hour or so and I'd recommend a paddle around. Overall a great place to spend a few days in the Ba Be National Park area right on the lake.

The way to get to thehotel southbound ( google maps ) was at least to say quire a challenge. We visited in low season, and were the only guests in the entire hotel. The owner prepared us a rice/chicken/ vegeteable meal which was OK.

The staff was fantastic, excellent conversations. Even gave us a traditional rice cake when leaving.

The location is very beautiful, with a wonderful point of view on the lake and the rice fields. But what we enjoyed most was the kindness and gentleness of Noa, and her family . Later Phuong Nam hotel sent me an email : “Sorry we were out of town for the Vietnamese New Year “. I sent an email to Booking.com costumer services to complain, but no reply from Booking.com yet .
