The property was new, clean, and serene. Good price for the rooms. The owner Luan speaks fluent English and his wife is very sweet along with their 2 1/2 year old daughter. She cooked us an authentic Vietnamese dinner our first night and accommodated our tastes for the other days. I fully recommend staying at this hotel since the hospitality was so great.

Το Ba Be Jungle Houses διαθέτει εξωτερική πισίνα, κήπο, κοινόχρηστο χώρο lounge και μπαρ, στον προορισμό Ba Be. I can't recommend Ba Be Jungle Houses enough (previously Mr Linh's). We booked only the day before. The team organised all of our travel for us - we got the 12:30pm "bus" from Hanoi to Ba Be Boat House. The bus was more of a luxury van - it was very comfortable and air conditioned. Arriving is serene and beautiful - very different from the crazy bustle of Hanoi. From there we were collected by their "boat man" who took us, by boat, to the homestay. Crossing the lake as the sun was setting was a special way to arrive! We'd initially booked a deluxe double however when we arrived I discovered that one of the king rooms were available and we upgraded. I am so glad we did. Waking up to views over the mountains was incredible. They'd asked us in advance what we'd like for dinner - there were 4 menus to choose from. The food was absolutely delicious - it tasted like home-cooking. The whole team made sure you were comfortable and having a good time. It was by far the best service we had in Vietnam. My partner went on the trek with one of the homestay's guides which he enjoyed a lot. I was supposed to attend, however I injured my elbow which made hiking difficult. I joined for the first part through the paddies and turned back when you needed to scramble up hill a little. We also went on a boat trip to an amazing bat cave. I would recommend that, too! We were only supposed to stay for two nights but we extended to 4. And we didn't want to leave. The team really, really looked after me - bringing ice for my injury and even driving me to the doctor's and pharmacist to help with translation to get medication. Special thanks to Nam for this. Ba Be itself is a hidden gem and not to be missed. People we met while travelling reported places like Sapa to be crowded with tourists. Ba Be is the opposite. It is totally untouched and untrodden.

The way to get to thehotel southbound ( google maps ) was at least to say quire a challenge. We visited in low season, and were the only guests in the entire hotel. The owner prepared us a rice/chicken/ vegeteable meal which was OK.

The staff were extremely accommodating, going out of there way to help me find a motorbike repair shop and bargaining on my behalf. Organised transport for us. The staff was fantastic, excellent conversations. Even gave us a traditional rice cake when leaving.

Absolutely wonderful staff, couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming.Comfortable bed,clean sheets.I’ve stayed twice and will be staying again before I’ve finished riding around northern vietnam.

I booked it, Booking.com sent a confirmation number. When we arrived at the hotel, door was locked, phone was disconnected. we have to drive to Thai Nguyen , 73 km away for another hotel. Later Phuong Nam hotel sent me an email : “Sorry we were out of town for the Vietnamese New Year “. I sent an email to Booking.com costumer services to complain, but no reply from Booking.com yet .
