Set in New York, 1.2 km from National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Artezen Hotel has a fitness centre and rooms with free WiFi access. What a gem! I am so happy that we booked this hotel for 3 nights and we would definitely stay there again. The location is just perfect, Fulton subway is right there, Wall Street is just around the corner and you can see One World Trade Center on your left from outside the hotel. The room was big and had a beautiful decor. It was spotless clean when we got there and they fixed our room perfectly every day. The staff is very kind and super helpful, we couldn't feel more welcome during our stay. We did not have time to try the gym but saw it and it was a nice space to train with all you need, like a mini gym. There was no restaurant nor breakfast but there are plenty of places right on the street for coffee and food and it's more fun to go out in NY! Nevertheless there is a Nespresso coffee machine in the room and a water boiler so you can have tea or coffee in your room anytime. There is also a little supermarket right in front of the hotel which is great to buy snacks, etc. We stayed some nights before in Midtown but I liked it way more the downtown area and this hotel. It's better to stay there and take the subway to Midtown. We also went for nice walks to Soho, West Village, Chinatown and Little Italy. It was great value for the money and I highly recommend this hotel!

New York var okkar fyrsta upplifun af Bandaríkjunum.
New York var okkar fyrsta upplifun af Bandaríkjunum. Mannfjöldinn downtown Manhattan og sérstaklega á Times Square var svolítið yfirþyrmandi. Hótelið okkar var á 58st. sem er góð staðsetning og mæli ég eindregið með að farið sé uptown því þar upplifir maður í raun allt aðra og rólegri borg. Subway kerfið er mjög skilvirkur og þægilegur ferðamáti. Ég mæli með því að fara í Hop on bus ferð um New York og sérstaklega mæli ég með Hop on siglingu, frábært að fá það sjónarhorn á borgina og góðir leiðsögumenn. Hestvagnaferð um Central Park er líka ógleymanleg, enda vagnstjórarnir stútfullir af fróðleik. Einnig er gaman að leigja sér hjól fyrir utan Central Park og hjóla allan garðinn. Það kom okkur á óvart hvað mikið er hægt að fá af góðum og hollum mat í NY. Gott er að fara uppí Rockefeller ef þú vilt skoða borgina ofanfrá þvi það eru oft ansi langar biðraðir í Empire State.

Fjölbreytileikinn er dásamlegur í New York. Ótrúlegt úrval veitingahúsa (sniðugt að skoða umsagnir á netinu). Hér er allt í boði. Það er nauðsynlegt að ganga um Manhattan en ef þarf er afar þægilegt að ferðast um Manhattan með jarðlestinni og oftast mun fljótlegra en að taka leigubíl. Borg borganna :-)

New York is a busy, bustling place. Overwhelming at times. Lots of culture and nice places to see; recommend Guggenheim adn MoMA. Good views from top of the Rock. Really good to see some green in between and central park is a gem. Good places to eat; recommend Eataly and Industry Kitchen and the Free Tours by Foot Lower Eastside food tour. Very very expensive. Disappointing that wages in the service industry are so low that people working in it are always with their hand out; expect up to 20% increase on your bill. Capitalism really has a chokehold on unions. Despite lots of twin cars, there doesn't appear to be much environmental consciousness in this big city.

New York is one of a kind...fast, loud, dynamic and wonderful. Every neighborhood has its charm. Easy to get around - we used the Subway and Uber the most. The city is great but expensive.

I love New York - would reccomend to start by buying a week pass for the Subway, the City is big and using the Subway makes everything easy, breakfast midtown, lunch in Harlem and dinner in the Village, or Little Italy :) walk the High line and have a message in China town... NYC has it all- love it
