A short distance from breathtaking waterfalls and within driving distance of Hawaii National Volcanoes Park, SCP Hilo Hotel offers comfortable accommodations and a swimming pool. The room had two queen beds, both beds were comfortable and my husband and I had good night sleeps. We were surprised with the bedding. My husband likes having his evening coffee, it was a short trip into the lobby to get him his coffee with their 24 hour service. Every staff we encounter were friendly.

Upon booking, the hotel informed us that they don't have AC and elevator, which is unusual these days at main land. As this is our last-minute booking, we decided to go ahead with it. As we first got there, it looks like a motel and pretty rundown from the outside. Actually as we walked into the room, we found it very spacious and the king size bed is so comfortable. We also have a bit view of the ocean. At night it cools down quite a bit. So if you have the balcony door open and fan on, it's pretty cool. The housekeeping ladies are doing a great job cleaning everyday. Overall, we are super happy about this booking and would recommend to our friends.

Even though it's a simple, local and antique hotel, our stay was great! Staring by Lee at front desk that was so kind and amazing to us. If you're expecting for a super fancy and impersonal hotel, this is not for you. The stay was great because it was simple, connected to the nature and cultural. You sleep and wake up with the sound of the animals outside and it was so beautiful. Breakfast is very nice and the area you get to eat is rich of details and, of course, more nature. Price was great for the offerings. If you are a nature and local culture appreciator, that place is for you.
