Located in Kilwa Masoko, 1.4 km from Ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani, The Slow Leopard Kilwa provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a bar. An excellent hostel with an excellent location. Right off the beach, they have their own boat to take you on tours of the Kilwa ruins or epic snorkeling adventures in the stunning coral reefs. The guide was knowledgeable, providing me with a first-time snorkeling lessons and an exciting history of the ruins. The hostel space itself is beautiful and pleasantly relaxing, I enjoyed stargazing on the rooftop balcony at night with a cold beer in-hand.

Situated on a former coconut plantation by Masoko Pwani Beach, Kilwa Beach Lodge offers private beach access, deep-sea fishing, snorkelling and hippo-watching trips. The location is great, right next to the ocean. The staff were very helpful. They even sent a motorcycle to guide us to the lodge because we arrived in the dark and Google Maps doesn't show all of the roads in the area. The food was really good.
