From the moment we booked the hotel to the moment we left, everything exceeded our expectations. This family-run hotel reached out to us after booking to confirm our stay (6+ months in advance). Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly smiles and very helpful tips on what to see and where to find things on Koh Tao. They sent us a message in the app with everything from viewpoints, restaurants, and local services we might be interested in. The room was very clean, the balcony had a nice cozy feel to it, and the laundry service offered was efficient. I can't speak highly enough about the cafe tied to the hotel. This entire hotel is family-run including the cafe. Their menu is excellent and offers a variety of homemade meals to cater to everyone. The food was fresh and the croissants...well, the croissants are some of the best we've ever had (especially the chocolate croissants)! Their location is ideal for couples or families looking to get away from the party beaches while still only being a 15 minute walk away from everything. Our 2 week trip across Thailand was made memorable largely from The Big Tree Boutique Hotel. If, and when, we come back I will certainly be staying here on Koh Tao.

They helped us book ferry tickets and they rent bikes there which is very convenient. The hotel is close to everything, but down a side street so very quiet at night. Big comfortable rooms and beds. Thailands perle
Koh Tao er øya for deg som ikke liker tettpakkede turiststrender. Det er en veldig laidback atmosfære over hele øya og de flotte dykkestedene tiltrekker seg mange backpackere og dykkere. Mandag, onsdag, fredag og søndag er det Koh Tao Pubcrawl for de som liker å treffe nye folk å oppleve utelivet. Transport: Det er absolutt lettest å komme seg rundt på øya om man leier en scootermoped. D.D Hut har utleie, de ligger mellom Mae Haad og Sairee, litt bortenfor politistasjonen. De er trygge og seriøse, trenger ikke være nervøs for at de skal nekte å levere tilbake pass eller evt kreve masse penger av deg, hvis du behandler mopeden bra selvfølgelig :-) Ellers så går det pickuptaxier litt her og der, men som sagt så er det lettest med en scootermoped. De koster 200 Baht i døgnet. Mat: In Touch resort på enden av Sairee beach har den beste Thaimaten på øya. Ellers så er Suchilli, Sairee Sairee og Porto Bello restauranter som kan anbefales. Aktiviteter: Dykking er den mest populære aktiviteten på Koh Tao, og den er ingen plasser i verden som sertifiserer flere nye dykkere enn sentrene på Koh Tao. Men om du ikke er interessert i dykking så kan du ta en taxibåt rundt øya for å se det du ikke kan se fra veien og evt stoppe på flotte snorkleplasser. Det er også flere flotte utkikkspunkt på øya. Det beste er nok Mango Viewpiont. Der har du flott utsikt over Sairee beach. Det er også verdt å ta seg en tur over til den lille naboøya, Nang Yuan. Vær obs på at det koster 100 Baht per person i inngangspenger, og øya stenger kl 17 for de som ikke bor der.

Koh Tao er en vakker plass. Det er mange muligheter hvis du liker fysisk aktivitet. Du kan dykke, bade, snorkle, klatre eller prøve thaiboksing eller yoga. Mange spisesteder med god mat, og steder der du kan få pedikyr, manikyr eller massasje.

Sairee beach was amazing!
Sairee beach was amazing! Great place, a lot of people and great entertainment on the beach every night(fire show) :) Would recommend a trip to nang yuan island, amazing snorkeling. Eat at black garlic and cantina the Koh Tao, we loved the food there!
